Have you applied already? You have a shot, but you should apply ASAP if you haven't yet. Berkeley has a rep for not like late apps.

Your chances will depend on how good of a PS you write since your soft factors aren't strong.

According to LSN the big thing about Berkeley is that the deny and wait-list people with all kinds of numbers. Your numbers give you a great shot but you need a solid PS as well.

if you vote no, can you tell me why? I have seen people with 180 and 4.0 get rejected... and if I get in at berk is that some kinda indication towards stanford? or harvard?

If you get into Berkeley, that's a good sign for Stanford. Unless you go to HYP, Harvard isn't happening.

To what extend is it a good sign for Stanford? Do they look for similar things? I got into Berkeley today, would love to get in to Stanford obviously.

OP: sorry to tread jack. We have similar numbers (3.91/170) so you definitely have a shot. I do have a bunch of softs and long WE though.

I thought the HYP love applied more to people with slightly lower GPAs. Regardless, your shot at HLS is very low unless you've done some fantastic stuff. They did take a few people last year with close-to-4.0 GPAs and low 170s LSATs, but the odds are against you.

Odds are somewhat better at Stanford, but they're mysterious. So is Boalt, for that matter, but I think you have a solid shot there with a captivating PS (provided you've applied already or are sending in your package ASAP. The remark about them hating on late apps is credited).

well, its about time to come out and say it. This was an experiment to gauge the accuracy of TLS user predictions vs. reality to see if their predictions for my other schools would be any good listening to. I actually got a call before thanksgiving which means I was in the auto-admit category.... But no kidding I would like to know how I would fare for stanford and columbia.... and perhaps even harvard considering I was a Berk auto admit.....and good luck to everyone else trying to get into Berk!

Wait, so people think I would actually have a shot at Stanford just because Berkeley accepted me?
With that LSAT record? No. I am surprised you got into Berkeley.
