Here are my stats:
3.78 GPA
162 LSAT Oct 2010 (retake in Dec 2010)
Science degree from a large public university (one year out of school)
Weak-average softs/LoRs
I realize I need to retake, but I really need to apply this cycle. Should I apply now and ask the schools to hold my application until the scores come back? Or should I wait until they do and write an addendum?
Also, what kind of score on the retake gives me a realistic shot at, say, 15-18 and below? T14?
Thanks.

Mid 160's of the T20-30. 167-168 should get you 15-18. 169 might snag UMich/Cornell. 170 for the T14.
Yes I would say apply now with your application held for the retake. Unless your 162 was because you were sick or someone died, you don't need an addendum.
No, you actually don't.

Similar numbers to me (3.89/164). I'm retaking; so should you.
One thing I'm doing is applying to a lot of schools now, but having them hold my application until the December score comes. Hopefully this will allow my application to be reviewed before the massive influx of January applications go complete.
