Justin.S wrote:Thanks RL...what do you think my chances are if I ED'd to Cornell or Cal-Berkeley?
Cornell has no ED only EA. Berkeley is worth an app since they love high GPAs.

I've been looking into Cornell obsessively over the last few days and sorry to say there's very little info on LSN for a 3.9/165 splitter. It's worth an app though but looks like WL territory.

Yes. 7 point difference? Definitely retake.

Rad Law--

How confident are you that an ED to UVA would get me accepted there?

Very very very confident. I would be surprised if you did not.

One last question though....if I ED to UVA now, and then retake the LSAT and score 170+, will I be given equal consideration for scholarships or will I pay full tuition because I am already locked in?
In all likelihood, paying.

No idea what your talking about. If you retake the LSAT and score a 172 or better (that is above their 75th%) then you will be considered for scholarship money. You may not get the deans scholarship but you will get money. 171 and below you probably wont get much if anything.

They do consider people with ED and if they screw a 3.95 with a 172+ with no scholly money that would hurt them because they know people will see their "we evaluate everyone equally" as bullshit. Im sure thats not something they want to do. You may not be evaluated equally, but if you have numbers that are rediculously high then yes you will get money.

I meant if you ED, assume no money.

Thanks again for all your responses...

If I re-take in December, how does applying now with my current numbers (3.9, 165) affect my chances if I get a 170-174 on my next LSAT? Will I have to re-apply or something?

ugh, I'm such a noob. Thanks so much for all your help.

Just tell them not to evaluate your application until your new LSAT comes in.

This is hard, because right now your early in the admission cycle. That will help you. After getting your score back in december you are going to be very late. It would hurt you greatly in your T14 chances. Unless of course you really think you can raise it 7+ points

I have no doubt that I can raise my score to at least >170, probably between 172-174...My lowest PT ever was 167.

The question I have is how diminished are my acceptance/scholarship chances if I apply late? Everything I seem to read encourages early applications and I understand the benefits, but if I can improve my score to at least a 170 is it worth waiting?

and Rad, Can I really apply and then tell them to wait to review my application until my december scores come in?
Call them and make sure, but that's what I did last yr.

Yep. Didn't do good enough for UVA though. Did do good enough for wads of cash at 15-17.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
