UT Early Admission with 3.1 and 163
UT Law is my hail mary.
Details:
GPA: 3.1
LSAT: 163
Extra-Curricular: Undergraduate Moot Court champion at regional this year, Student Conduct Committee, PAD.. blah blah blah
Should I apply Early Admission where, if denied, I will not be able to be considered with regular admission, or wait and apply regular admission?

Are you a URM and a Texas resident.
If not you don't have a prayer honestly.
Even then it won't be a good chance.

i am hoping you are talking about the other UT- Tennessee.
No chance at ut unless URM.

I am talking Texas, I'm a not URM, but I am a resident. I know it's a long shot and I realize I don't have much of a chance, but I will always wonder "what if.." if I don't at least give it a try. As far as the GPA goes, I was a retard my first year and a half of undergrad, but have had a 4.0 since then. This is reflected in my addendum.
Dr. King's army is pretty good!!mcflooter06 wrote:If you are talking Texas, then unless you are a URM, you don't have a good chance. UT seems to really hate GPAs below 3.5 lately (they rejected plenty of high-LSAT/sub-3.5 last cycle). I think you should just apply early action, its non-binding, and just gets you a decision quicker- it will be your best chance to get in at all. If you can retake and get that LSAT up, I definitely recommend it if you wanna go to Texas.TJISMYHERO wrote:UT Law is my hail mary.

since you're set on applying no matter what, to answer your actual question, it doesnt really matter whether you apply RD or ED...so why not go w/ ED?
besides, if not auto-rejected, they can defer you to the RD pool (i think).

ED (non-binding Early Action) has a deadline of November 1st.
To be considered timely for Early Decision Admission, an applicant must take the LSAT no later than the October administration and register with the LSAC Credential Assembly Service (CAS) no later than October 10 of the year before desired entry, and submit a completed application for admission postmarked no later than November 1. Any application postmarked after November 1 will be considered along with the Regular Decision Admission applications postmarked by February 1.

I think OP has a very good chance at some respectable T2's.

Schools like Temple, Cincy, and UF are relatively cheap (in-state), and perform passably well in their respective markets, but those are the exceptions--not the rule.Dex wrote:Oxymoron alert?Total Litigator wrote:I think OP has a very good chance at some respectable T2's.

UF is actually a good example. I stand corrected.HeavenWood wrote:Schools like Temple, Cincy, and UF are relatively cheap (in-state), and perform passably well in their respective markets, but those are the exceptions--not the rule.Dex wrote:Oxymoron alert?Total Litigator wrote:I think OP has a very good chance at some respectable T2's.

Yeah, I decided to save my money and apply to the 'other' good schools in Texas. SMU, Houston, and Baylor.Stringer Bell wrote:.00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% chance at getting into Texas.

Although I won't deny that there do exist relatively respectable T2's (those which standout and are respected in relatively insular regions) my comment was actually sarcasm really just meant to poke fun at the OP's contention that he has a shot at UT.Dex wrote:UF is actually a good example.
