The OP stated that his school requires hospitalization for *any* level of intoxication.
So when you travel in Asia, and they have these laws that if you get caught with even 1 gram of hash/weed, you go to jail for a very long time. Do you:
1. Choose not to do it because it's stupid to go to jail for that
2. Choose to do it and hope to not get caught, but complain after getting caught that it's stupid to go to fail for that
You put the level of offense in context based on your environment. When the punishment for minus infractions are high due to the place/time you just choose to not do it. It's not like he didn't know what was going to happen.
