Apply to the entire T14 minus maybe Berkeley and wherever else you are interested. You are an extreme splitter and a URM in the 98th? 99th? percentile. Ask for fee waivers also. You have a bright future. Good luck.

A life threatening medical issue is sufficient explanation for a low GPA. The above poster gave good advice, although I think that you should also apply to UCal-Berkeley with an addendum explaining your GPA.
If I may ask, how did you prepare for the LSAT ? How many times did you take the LSAT ?

I took it once (June of the year I graduated). I prepped by doing lots of PTs and using the PS LR & LG Bibles. That's pretty much it.

Apply to the entire T14. I think you will get at least MVP with a solid shot at CCN. I don't think you need to apply outside the T14 unless you are interested in going to a lower school with a scholarship.

My best guess is that you will be admitted to Harvard & almost all of the rest of the Top 14 with money. Good luck!

URM with 178? That very rarely happens. There are around 50-60 180s in the country every year. Among URMs like you with 178+, there are few, less than 10. You are in at least half the T-14, probably more. Don't ED anywhere, you will probably get full rides at 7-14, and partial rides at 3-6. As for HYS, one or two will bite for sure, maybe even with money. You are good to go.

A lot of schools don't like high LSAT splitter URMs. Apply everywhere but it won't be as rosey as everyone is saying. t14 for sure though.

Definitely not Yale (the lowest GPA in their entire class has consistently been 3.4-3.5 in past years) or Stanford (lowest GPA = 3.12), and almost surely not H.

Also, HYS do not give merit aid, so any money would be need-based only.
