2.8 170 non-URM
Hey all,
2.8 with a decent upward trend and multiple strong academic LoRs, a 170 on the last December LSAT my first time taking. I applied last cycle pretty late (Jan/Feb) to 9 schools, 5 were fee-waived, got a bunch of waitlists (Emory, GW, ND, W&M) but none pulled through. Time for the second go-round, got a little more experience and resume building stuff (a government clerkship and lots of volunteer stuff) but generally speaking, my softs aren't that good.
How can I maximize my t30 chances? I've heard that UVA will take splitters with 170s early decision, but my GPA is probably too low.
How are my chances at these places?
Vandy
Emory
UVA
GT (Maybe PT ED??)
GW
BC
BU
W&M
NW
ND
Fordham
Thanks everyone.

2.9/170 got into UVa (ED, iirc) last year. Might as well send an ED to them right now as it is your only shot at the T14 imo.

TITCR. If you want T14 you fake the field goal and go for the win.bk187 wrote:2.9/170 got into UVa (ED, iirc) last year. Might as well send an ED to them right now as it is your only shot at the T14 imo.

I don't think UVA will take a 2.8.
NU might with ED, but 170 is low and your work experience seems light.
Enjoy Minnesota.

Is a 170 worth retaking? Would there really be that much to be gained, given my GPA, from getting a 172 or above?
Also, would I have any chance at PT for GW or Fordham?

Given your GPA, getting a 172-173 on a retake would be a huge help. It would probably get you over the hurdle at Gtown, Cornell, and make an ED to UVA possible.
