Non-urm, weak softs.

Would it help dramatically if I could raise my GPA to maybe 3.75+ or maybe even 3.8.

I still have the first semester of my senior year left and I might just take the easiest classes possible (5 introductory courses) and try to boost my gpa. Or is that a bad idea?

How much will it help?

What are my chances as it stands now?

The median LSAT score for the 2009 entering class was 167 and the median undergraduate GPA was 3.63.
3.8 would put you at their 75 percentile I think.

I think you have a good chance of getting in even with 168 and 3.72 (we are number twins). Apply before Nov 15
As stated on the website: "any application complete as of November 15, 2010, will be considered for our early action process."

168 3.7 should get you in. There is no guarantees but most people with your numbers will get into cornell.

By pretty good like 60/40 chance?

If I got a 169 LSAT score or a 3.8 GPA would I be almost in certainly in category?

At 3.8 you'd be at both 75s. That's pretty good.

By weak softs I mean REALLY weak.

And I just calculated my LSAC gpa and it's a 3.78, maybe a 3.79 depending on how they calculate my grade in this 2 credit course I took...

I may try to raise it to a 3.8 this semester.

Do law schools get grades up to first semester of senior year if I'm applying early this cycle?

I have no softs though.

But thanks a lot! Gives me hope...even though I don't have my LSAT score yet...but I'm averaging around a 167-168...so maybe...

Oh, well that changes things... Get a real LSAT score and then we can talk. Most people have a few point dropoff on the real thing.

And stop fretting over your softs. They are very irrelevant. Just study for the LSAT.

+1. Now I just feel silly. Stop playing these frantic "what if" games and go study for the LSAT.
