4.0/165 Chances for BU?

Post by Finalflash013 » Sat Aug 07, 2010 4:34 pm

I currently have a 4.0 GPA Undergrad and have yet to take an official LSAT, but have been scoring in the 165 range on practice tests. What do you think my chances are for BU or BC? What's the best school I could realistically get into with these statistics. If my major matters, I am a double major in Political Science & Philosophy with a minor in Economics. Thanks.

you have an excellent shot at both BU and BC. However, a 4.0 UGGPA is a horrible waste on a non t14. Try to bring it up to a 170 and enjoy Columbia, NYU, Upenn, UVA or to a lesser prestigious extent Gtown!

Thanks for the encouragement! Cupidity, what do you mean by negotiating if you don't mind me asking? Also how does Law School financial aid usually work? Does your LSAT score have a huge effect on how much money the school offers you? Does the government give out aid and grants for law school similar to undergrad?

Let them know how much you want BU. Confirm for them that it is your first choice, whether it be emails or a "Why BU" additional statement. LSAT scores will have a good impact on where you get in. They want good LSAT scores, so they will offer good money to applicants who express desire and have optimal numbers. They'll like the 4.0 for sure, but I would focus on studying for the LSAT. With a 170 +, you're looking at some very nice options
