Chances at Wake/Tulane

Postby m2092800 » Wed Aug 04, 2010 10:43 am

GPA 3.8

Any ideas regarding my chances at Tulane or Wake?

In before somebody sends you to http://www.lawschoolpredictor.com/

If you are not a URM probably about a 50 percent chance at wake and a 10 percent chance at Tulane

Dude, you know it's all going to come down to how you do on LSAT. The fact you started w/ a 157 won't matter -- the schools will take your highest score. Make sure you get a 161 and with your GPA you'll be safe at either. 160 might get you in. Below is unlikely. 162 will probably get you a little money and 163 will get you big money. I think the stats for both schools are about the same.

You have a shot at both, but if you get in, they are both going to be WL>Accept and you will have to pay sticker. And neither school is worth sticker. Shoot for 163+ and you should get lots of $. Good luck.

This gave me something to do during my break instead of checking out the Red Sox injury report (depressing, if you're interested in knowing).

Checked LSN

this cycle at Wake, two apps with your numbers - one waitlisted, one accepted off the waitlist, neither got any $

this cycle at Tulane, two apps with your numbers - both waitlisted, no word if they got accepted afterwards but they didn't wait around to find out either

Hope this helps

Make sure you dominate your lSATS in October. both are truly bad schools with horrible career opportunities. Def do not go without $$$ and you wont get $$ without a higher lsat score. Good luck

Let us say that I pull up my LSAT to 160 or 161band my GPA remains at 3.8. Any ideas on where that could get me? I am trying to figure out some target schools. Thanks in advance.

Are you interested in the South? (based on interest in Wake/Tulane)? With a 160-162 I'd say you're pretty much limited to Wake, Tulane, and your local state school. However, that's not necessarily a bad thing. Your local state school probably places great in its state. I would recommend against going to another state school just because it's ranked higher. Firms at your home market will be like "whey didn't you go to State," and forms in that market will be like "well, your grades are pretty good and its cool you came here for law school but we really prefer to higher our own."

Maybe with a 162 or 163 you could get Washington and Lee which is well respected throughout South.

Thanks for your help. I am interested in the staying in the South. However, I would be willing to go elsewhere pending the caliber of the school. good luck to you.
