I do love Gainesville in respect to other places in FL. It def wouldnt be a bad place to spend 3 years. That being said, I would rather spend my working life elsewhere. UF has no pull in, say, GA?

because it invites people to make uninformed decisions for one. Also, because it obscures what Tulane really is. In my experience here, Tulane is a decent school, a solid institution. And for many people who come here on significant scholarships, it is not a terrible bargain (though still not great). I love it here, and will say as much. But I can't stand the likes of Pdaddy and Aberzombie who just are either deliberately misleading or deluding themselves.

If you have connections to Ga, you might be able to get a job there. If you do really well at UF, you might have a shot at a good atlanta firm. Generally speaking, though, a UF degree would be about as valuable as a random TTTT state law degree from a school in Ga. It's a degree, but it's not going to be particularly valuable in terms of getting you a job. You're going to have to do the legwork if you want a job in Ga out of UF. It'd be much more advisable to go to UGA.

retake is almost always TCR if it is an option and you scored under a 170...rad law wrote:Goft, I've been telling her to retake now for weeks. Help me out here.mistergoft wrote: depends what you define as "pull"

You neglected to mention that you did only 6 practice tests!darby girl wrote:pocket herc wrote:Op, I love the area, the campus, and the students. Tulane is a great fit for me.
Do you know much about admissions? Or about my chances with my numbers of an admit?
And mistergoft, a 163 is extremely high for me. I got a 154 the first time cold. I am happy with it, would LOVE a 164+, but don't think with my very very busy schedule I have time to properly study and a prayer at doing any better.

If you break a 165 you have a pretty good shot at UGA. And it's possible. Easily possible. A 154-170 isn't even that extraordinary of an increase.

just guessing, I think you have a solid shot. You are above my class's median, and maybe Tulane will manage to push it up a point this year, but who knows. GPA is a little on the low side, but mine was significantly lower, and I got in with a decent scholarship. Retaking is a good idea though if at all possible. Fact of the matter, 154 diag while not great is hardly indicative of an inability to exceed 163. You probably just have to tweak some things, buckle down, and a 170 might (might) become possible.

6 PT's? Are you kidding?
That's not studying. Spend 3 months actually studying and retake the LSAT. Then ponder this stuff.
And what is this "busy busy schedule" crap? Are you working 65+ hours a week? What exactly are you doing that you can't find time to study for one of the most important tests you'll ever take?

At most I could devote only 1 day a week to studying. I work 9+ hours a day and take a full load of classes. I hardly have time to sleep. I'm lucky I got next week off to go tour a bunch of law shcools, and doubt Ill get any time off after that for a long while...kalvano wrote:6 PT's? Are you kidding?

To be blunt - boo-fucking-hoo. I was working 10-12 hours a day, 6 days a week when I was studying.
Make time.

yeah, going to join the retake chorus here. I was kind of like you, never thought of retaking after only 4 practice tests, didn't understand what truly preparing for the lsat entailed. But the repercussions of not making a solid effort are too great

I really want to just put the LSAT behind me. If I can pull an admit to UF, Tulane, or even Wake I would be extreeeemely pleased. I'm kind of happy with my score...

Barbie has also neglected to mention that in a couple other threads, she said her dream school was UGA.

In the June test ironically yes, even though it is usually my best section. I missed all of the ones in the last game except 1!! even with ample time. grr

You sound like your about 22 years old and want everything now.
Suck it up and retake. Sacrifice a little on your current coursework if you have to.
