Re: What's the hardest/easiest to get into YHS?
So what's a good/safe GPA for a 170 at Stanford? I have't done much research on Stanford.

Re: What's the hardest/easiest to get into YHS?
Well I manage to bump my GPA up to a 3.92, so hopefully that will lead past a few candidates... My softs are my softs and they are unique so I don't know how they will be judged. This time around, my interest is a lot more focused and I have more accomplishments to back it up. Stanford, being the number insitution for my field, may view my resume more favorably, maybe... I don't think I expressed my focus and interests in law quite as clearly as I would now, so maybe my app will be received differently, especially now I am doing a respected PA masters. Well at least I hope all this helps.

So the consensus seems to be that HLS is all about numbers, SLS will overlook some poor numbers for great softs, and YLS scours your application for any possible reason not to admit you. But for those of us who are splitters - 177 lsat, 3.87 gpa - which of the HYS group value lsat more and which weigh gpa more heavily?

I don't think that's the right characterization. Anyway, those numbers will probably get Harvard.mgoblue11 wrote:So the consensus seems to be that HLS is all about numbers, SLS will overlook some poor numbers for great softs, and YLS scours your application for any possible reason not to admit you. I think the idea is taht someone who is above the 75th for LSAt but at or below the 50th for GPA is somehow a splitter, because taking them hurts the 50th a little. I don't really think it's a good use of the term but you can't always get what you want.romothesavior wrote:What in the hell are you talking about?mgoblue11 wrote:So the consensus seems to be that HLS is all about numbers, SLS will overlook some poor numbers for great softs, and YLS scours your application for any possible reason not to admit you. From all the evidence Y and S are more holistic and H is more numbers-driven.

Although HYS are going to be almost impossible, you can get Georgetown which is ranked 2!!! , way higher than Yale (9) and Stanford (18) - --LinkRemoved--
