Top Law Schools

I already have a degree and 3 years of quality work experience at a government agency. I have been working on a BS in computer science over my lunch break and at night for the past year and a half and will be done before I enroll. My second run through undergrad has been much better as I'm carrying a 3.3 gpa in a far different major. My first run through college was marked by various problems, many beyond my control. I'm enamored with intellectual property (planning on patent law) and as such am interested in the NYC, DC, Chicago, and San Fran markets.

Thoughts? Flames? Advice?

I went to a top 25 public school for my first degree (History and Political Science) and am going to a top 50 public for the Computer Science degree.

Is your computer science degree accredited? Have you researched computer scientists moving into Patent Law? Retake, score 170+, ED to NW and Pray.

yes the degree is accredited it's at a good state school not far from where I work and a BS in Csci is one of the approved degrees to sit for the patent bar

I know it is approved for the patent bar but have you researched the hiring patterns of whatever type of entity you are looking to join? The top background for patent pros is electrical eng, computer with the right background, then they start moving into the natural sciences.

Will a computer science degree be sufficient for your future plans?

where would I research hiring patterns? and also I'm not 100% sure I want to do specifically patent, a lot of software for example is covered by copyright, I've read on here that patent prosecution sometimes requires a master's whereas patent litigation not so, so yes in short I'm okay with the BS

Ususally patent pros only requires advanced degrees for the natural sciences and you would research hiring patterns on firm websites.

Thanks for the tip on hiring, and my school is ABET so the patent bar is fine. I was pretty sure of that before hand but you got me worried with your question.
