If you aren't too picky about where you go, you can crack the T30, a long shot at the T20, and probably out at the T14 (except Cornell, maybe?).

But a more important question is going to be where do you want to be? Because you're going to be looking mostly at top-notch regional schools.

I would ideally like to live and work in Chicago, so U of C and NW were my top two choices but I fell woefully short. I'm pretty open at this point to going anywhere, I would like to keep my options open and I want to see what are the best schools I could get into.

What top-20 schools would consider me? My GPA falls short at UCLA Texas Vandy and USC so should I even waste the app fee? Or do I have a legitimate chance?

And which Top 30 schools will overlook my GPA and offer me admission with maybe some scholarship money? ND? BU? BC? UIUC?

Again, any advice would be appreciated.

Plug in numbers. Ask for fee waivers. Cross fingers, sacrifice chickens, whatever makes you feel better.

Profit?

With a 3.39/165, you're below the GPA median of every T50, so your chances would start at the 164-165 schools and below, which are:
27. IUB
28. UGA, Davis
34. Washington
38. Alabama
42. Hastings, BYU
48. SMU, American
52. Cardozo

Ah the closest thing that I have found to a numbers twin on this board. I will be following your cycle with a watchful eye.

I have a 3.34 and a 166. I have a pretty long list of schools and being a 0L I can't really predict with any certainty, but I would think some of those Midwest schools would jump at you. What is your state of residency?

I reside in IL, yourself?

Also, does anyone have a website that lists median GPA and LSAT scores for law schools?

My question is where should I apply with a reasonable chance of being accepted? I have safety schools lined up and all that jazz but what are the best ranked schools I should apply to that would not be a waste of the application fee?

Would BU or USC be a complete waste of money and time? Any remote chance at any of the t14? And any chance a midwest school like Wisc-Mad or U of I offer me some scholarship money?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
Loyola, Kent or DePaul might give you some $$$.

166 is way different than a 165, but the two scores are in a sort of "dead zone" between schools that like a 167 and schools where you have a good shot with a 164. If I were you 166ers, I'd apply to Emory. Strong regional appeal. Probably in as long as your GPA isn't toilet; money is a possibility. 165 is out, except for bleeding-edge GPAs.

shall we all just call a11 1n's thread home?

my list as of now looks like this
super super reach: Berkeley, turned it down for UG and have regretted it since
super reach Gtown PT
reach UCLA ED
reach USC
reach BU
reach GWU
reach/target Emory
reach/target BC
target Fordham
target UC irvine
target UC Hastings
safety Pepperdine
safety Santa Clara

and i'm debating throwing in Wisconsin, Minnesota as targets/reach and Northwestern just cause i have 2 years of WE. hoping for some fee waivers too.

I qualified for a fee waiver through LSAC (at least conditionally) so my list is pretty long

Here is mine though from reach down to safety

Reach
Georgetown PT
George Washington
Notre Dame
Washington (It seems they favor GPA over LSAT and average LSAT's and I am OOS)

Target
Boston College
Illinois
UNC
William and Mary
Wisconsin (in state)
Washington and Lee
UC-Boulder
Tulane
UC Davis
UC Hastings

Safety
American
Lewis and Clark
Seattle
Denver
University of New Mexico

I took the liberty of organizing your post into an easy-to-answer structure.

1. Yes
2. No
3. Slim to none with that GPA
4. Retake

That seems like a good list, I am looking at Georgetown PT and George Washington as my reaches as well.

And Romo, I do appreciate the advice but I cannot look at another LSAC administered exam.
