My Waitlist Chances: UCLA, Berkeley, or U. Washington

Postby Xnegd » Fri Jun 25, 2010 6:25 pm

So, the LSAT just came in and I scored about 8 points below my average PT.

What are the chances of getting on the waitlist on UC Berkeley, UCLA, or the University of Washington?

LSAT: 162
GPA: 3.52 (Berkeley)

Softs: 4 years work experience as a paralegal, lots of volunteer experience.

p.s. I'm current attaining my MBA in Ireland, and I can't afford to fly to a foreign country to retake, so I'm kind of stuck with my 162 - I know the first instinct automatically is to retake in October. Anyways, is there any chance at getting on the waitlist of these three schools?

Would my future be that much different if I went to UC Davis or UC Hastings, rather than finished my MBA and waited one/two years to take the LSAT again hoping to get that 170 I got on my PTs and get into a T15?

With the MBA + WE you should be able to find something decent to occupy you for a year, why not just do that? MBA + 5 years WE + maybe a little LSAT boost should get you in at Northwestern at least. I'm sure you'd be able to find work on the West Coast after graduation.
