Multiple LSATs

So, I bombed my first LSAT. I started studying a month and a half before and burned out. This time I took a PowerScore course and got jumped more than 10 points (I don't plan on taking it again).

I have a high GPA and awesome recommendations.

My question: How much will that first score hurt me? I plugged everything into the Predictor tool, but that obviously just gives me my chances with each score individually, not with both on my record.

Do schools tend to favor the higher score if the difference is as big as it is and you have strong academic indicators otherwise?

I'd speculate that they'll look at the 149, think it's weird, then shrug and worry only about the 162, OR
see the massive improvement and be impressed.

Is this still a valid response for someone who is not a VA resident??? I just got my score, my stats are 162 3.94. I'm going to apply to BC, W&M, GW and Wake among others (but those are my tops). I'm thinking if I even get into these schools I doubt they'll give me money so i'm thinking about just EDing to UVA. do i have a chance if i apply in september?

All I can add to this is that you are very unlikely to get $ at GW (3.98, 162 over here).

That's what I'm hoping. Now I just have to figure out how to figure out how to explain that 149 in an addendum without sounding like I'm making excuses...

you could tell them that you took test 1 with self study, got the scores back, signed up for a lsat class, got a tutor for the ones you needed help with, and devoted your time to mastering the lsat as a way to show ur dedication to law and your commitment to excellence as a student( a 162 is a very good score- dont forget) or something like that
