Re: Law School Predictor 3.0
You need to go to the predictor and refresh a few times for 3.0 to come up instead of 2.6 Not sure why.

Re: Law School Predictor 3.0
I never understand the accuracy of the Law School Predictor.
I'm an AA Male with a 3.84/163 and it says I have <5% chance at Columbia, while nearly everyone I talked to said that I'd be an admit with or without an ED. It needs to updated for the different types of URMS!!

That's great - but for me, my target schools became my reach schools. I hope the part-time rankings predictor come out very soon! Anyone know when it will be up?paz wrote:thoughts on lsp 3.0:
i put some numbers in, and it predicted where i would get accepted. eureka! definitely worth the wait.

That's a good question, I'm not sure what the consensus is, but I meant it as an admit/safety school.rman1201 wrote:Do you guys consider a target school a Consider or Strong Consider?

Re: Law School Predictor 3.0
My chances at Yale went up (realizing that Yale is one of the schools LSP is bad at predicting)! I'm guessing it has to do with the lowered 75th LSAT percentile (177 -> 176).

Re: Law School Predictor 3.0
how much different is this from the previous year? Do the numbers have to be much higher due to greater amount of applications?

Nightrunner wrote: LSP is - I believe - a regression analysis of the numbers of previously admitted/rejected candidates. It cannot take into account:
a. when you apply, and
b. essays and other soft factors
Also, take into account that some schools (especially YHS) are pretty hard to predict, since they have their choices of the majority of top-applicants.

Re: Law School Predictor 3.0
well, I suppose it's all relative compared to the softs of other applicantsibdancin wrote:Gotcha. I'm not really interested in YHS anyway, but I want to believe LSP over LSN, etc. for the other T-14... I'm going to apply early, and you have to figure that essays and softs are really there to bump you up when your numbers aren't as great (i.e., when LSP predicts weak consider or deny) vs. bumping you down (unless you've done nothing with your life or have an awful essay). Or is that just hopeful thinking?Nightrunner wrote: LSP is - I believe - a regression analysis of the numbers of previously admitted/rejected candidates. It cannot take into account:
