But I also notice that my GPA is way lower than the minimums that such schools have accepted in the past (at least the bottom 25%). What's the best shot?

That is a terrifying stat, however super-splitters are quite rare and a very small group of people thus it is hard to accurately assess predictions based on previous trends.biladtreasure2 wrote:But I also notice that my GPA is way lower than the minimums that such schools have accepted in the past (at least the bottom 25%). Also, I forgot to mention that LSP is not the best resource for splitters, however I still stand by that you have a decent shot at the T1.

With a 175 LSAT, you have a good shot of getting in somewhere!
A 174/2.5 got into Seattle University and he applied as late as March.. if you apply around September/October- you're bound to get into somewhere.
A 173/2.46 got into Kent, Penn State, DePaul, and Wisconsin.
A 171/2.45 is attending SMU.
A 170/2.39 got into Minnesota.
A 170/2.3 got into Illinois with a $30K scholarship.
A 175 LSAT may not get you into a T14 but you can get into a Tier 1 school of some sort.

I'm a 176/2.47, got into GULC and NU. Sub-3.0's regularly get into NU. The best thing you can do is get a couple of years of WE then ED to NU.

Are you from the Chicago area, or the Midwest? I heard that schools prefer regional candidates (though I guess Northwestern is private and it might not matter).

Schools absolutely do not prefer regional candidates. I don't know where you've heard this.biladtreasure2 wrote:Are you from the Chicago area, or the Midwest? I heard that schools prefer regional candidates (though I guess Northwestern is private and it might not matter).

I know a 3.1/161 that got BU. It makes me think they give a slight boost to regionals, but I doubt they prefer them as biladtreasure suggested.aznflyingpanda wrote:Schools absolutely do not prefer regional candidates. If there is a slight boost given to regionals, I'm really crossing my fingers for Fordham.FuManChusco wrote:I know a 3.1/161 that got BU.
