Predict my chances?
Hi everyone. I know Law School Predictor well, but I'm more interested in getting human predictions here, even if just for fun as I sweat out the wait for decisions.
I have a 167/3.7, a masters degree, some fairly interesting softs. Do you think I'll get into any of the following T14 schools to which I have applied? Vote in the poll.
Columbia (update: waitlisted)
NYU
Cornell
Georgetown (update: rejected)
Duke
Chicago
Penn
Virginia (update: rejected)
Michigan

Re: Predict my chances?
You only have a nonzero chance at Cornell, but since they have like 50% more applications than last year, even that's not a safe bet especially if you just applied. I voted no.

Well, thanks for your honesty. You're even tougher than LSP, which gave me a "Consider" for all except Columbia and NYU. I'd like to think they look a little more holistically than just the index number, but I know I'm probably wrong.im_blue wrote:You only have a nonzero chance at Cornell, but since they have like 50% more applications than last year, even that's not a safe bet especially if you just applied. Re: Predict my chances?
Cornell is probably your best shot, but I don't see it happening this cycle. Unless URM or absolutely killer softs, CCN will not happen with those numbers and doubtful that MVP+DG will. Michigan might be one of the more holistic schools but even before this insane cycle a 168+ was usually needed to have a shot with that GPA.
Consider changing the UVA app to ED if you want to increase your chances, but still don't think it will happen. GL though.

Thanks for the input and suggestions. I have no hope for CCN, but will continue to hold out an iota of distant hope for the others. I do have a unique background that I think should be seen as a valuable contribution by these schools.Richie Tenenbaum wrote:Cornell is probably your best shot, but I don't see it happening this cycle. I just faxed in an ED contract for UVA. We'll see what happens!

Re: Predict my chances?
As an update...I was rejected from UVA after submitting an ED contract. At least they gave me an answer quickly!

Update:
I've been waitlisted (or "reserve" as they call it) at Columbia. I know it's not likely I'll get in off of it, but there's a ray of hope!
