International Law

Postby à côté de l'océan » Sat Feb 27, 2010 6:01 pm

First post ever here at TLS. Reaching out for some analysis.

It is my wish to study public international law at a preeminent law school with a strong IL program.

Naturally, I most covet a spot at either Columbia or NYU, schools at which my application is currently under review. I'd consider Harvard and Yale to be out of the question with my numbers, although I did apply to each for kicks. I've been asked to do an interview with Georgetown, and I was wait-listed yesterday by Michigan. UC Berkeley decision ought to be coming down the pike shortly. The Michigan wait-listing dismayed me, as I assumed acceptance to Michigan to be more probable than at the other, more selective schools.

LSAT:171
UGRAD: 3.9
I am thoroughly traveled, speak French, and will have completed an MBA focused in International Business by fall.

Yes, I'm mostly concerned with Columbia and NYU.

Just reaching out for some (mature) analysis. But, by all means, use your time in whatever way you feel is most constructive.

But in all seriousness, I understand my post was not an articulate question, per se. Just hoping to stimulate a little conversation among like minds. I figured someone would register an opinion of some sort. If not, that's fine. My apologies if I've committed some kind of faux pas.

General concensus on TLS is that international law is admissions fluff for foolish do gooders. Thus the LAWLZ posts.

What exactly do you want to do? "Public International Law" is an elusive field, at best.

International Taxation ftw! You can make money, baby, money!

Seriously all CCN+B sound like good choices for you.
