164/3.60, what are my chances?

Postby njc08 » Mon Feb 15, 2010 8:29 pm

Ok, firstly I deeply regret that I didn't come to this forum before I submitted all my application..Really really upset now..

My LSAC GPA is 3.60, and I wrote a GPA and LSAT addendum. I am finishing college in three years with two degrees, and GPA was low due to my first semester (international students took writing intensive and arts classes due to late registration).
My highest LSAT is 164, while I got two lower scores in September and December test (family reason.my deer brother committed suicide last fall and my mother was hospitalized..I had to fly back to my country to help my family and totally screwed up my LSAT studies...)

I've had 1.5 years of full working experience before college, lived in three countries. During college, although I am not eligible for any scholarships or off-campus employment (VISA status), I still managed to get 2 years of volunteer experience (law field), 2 years of on-campus employment, undergraduate representative on my major department.

I applied really late (end of January, early Feb). Now I am really really worried about my chances to get in schools on my list. I really hope for a top 20 school (my poor mother really wish to see me go to a good school), but I know my chances are very low due to my numbers.

I am pretty confident at my essays and I have one really strong LOR, two pretty good ones.

Please give me advice on what other schools I should apply to and what my chances are on my school list. Thank you soooo much!! :D
