Congrats on the UM admit... You also learned a lesson about asking for advice on this site... If your not considering a T-14 then "you are making a grave mistake and should reconsider law school"... LOL...

Im ina similar situation regarding the upward trending grades and I have "overachieved" so far in my cycle compared to what LSP predicted. At the end of the day, numbers do matter.... BUT a good PS and good addendum(s) can do alot...

GL the rest of the cycle and be thankful that you won't be in class with many of these TLS "tough guys"...

Who are you calling "scoreboard" on? The people who said you couldn't get into those schools or the people who told you not to go to law school?

I'm calling out all of them, especially the ones who told me I couldn't get in. In three years we'll see about the ones who told me not to attend law school, the jury i guess is still out lol. If we could all get 170s the world would be such a great place. Shockingly, 100% of the population can not score in the 98th percentile.
What were your numbers and schools you applied to?

Do NOT pay sticker at Miami unless you're looking to get screwed by your debt later.

If you haven't gotten into Pitt yet, you have a decent shot. There are folks in with worse, but also out with better.

Good Luck

Apologize for being off topic...just tired of everyone thinking you have to get a scholly and get into top 25 to be a successful attorney. I think its important to note, while it would be great to get scholarschip money to go to law school, and it is something everyone should strive to achieve, not everyone is able to get it.

If you don't get it, it doesn't mean your fu$%#d. It just means you have to work hard to pay it down. Do you really think that the majority of kids going to top 50 law schools are all on 50-75% scholarschip packages? someone pays for the scholarships and i'm sure its the sticker kids.

Sometimes people are not in the position to dedicate 2-3months of 8 hour day studying to get the top score. It doesn't mean they're not committed, it just means they have to provide for themselves and maybe their families...or they're flakes and they don't have the balls to follow through with it. But still, if you pay sticker at a school like Miami and understand you should try and network no matter where you go, you should be fine.

My agent, graduated from there and paid his loans off within about 5 years...but he was on law review and did everything he could to bolster his resume.

Have a plan, and stick to,unless its a bad plan; then freak!

If you're paying almost 40k in tuition per year, plus Miami's high cost of living, you could be looking at 120k to 150k in debt, depending on how much you throw in yourself. The legal market in FL right now is in the toilet. Everyone and their mother networks. You can "work hard," but if you're around the median at UF and get a job paying 50k to 60k, as is eminently possible, then you are gonna have a hell of a time.

This seems like a terrible investment to me, especially when you consider the 3 years of lost income forgone as an opportunity cost. I'm glad you're buddy got a decent job, but everyone is shooting for law review. Don't go to somewhere where you wouldn't be happy at the median.
