2.9/159 chances

Post by basehead11 » Mon Feb 01, 2010 12:45 am

Hi, I have a 2.9 gpa with an upward trend. Took the lsat twice and got a 146 the first time and a 159 the second. I have good summer/winter work experience in the New York State Senate. What do you think my chances are at the following schools i've applied to?

Albany
Syracuse
Buffalo
Western New England
Hofstra
Widener
Cooley

Be wary of Cooley! I have heard some rough stuff about them. (attrition rate = really, really bad)

I think that your GPA is gonna hurt you but the 159 LSAT is not bad at all! Also, with those numbers, admissions committees will hopefully check out your LOR's and your resume/personal statement combo. If you have spent some time on that I think your chances are good for all of them and especially Syracuse!

Go ahead and take Cooley off your list. You should get in Syracuse, Hofstra & Albany. I'm not real sure of the others.

Just got into Hofstra today! Not my first choice but dont have to worry about Cooley anymore.
