I'm saying a ding since you're not over the GPA median.

Re: UVA ED
Probably a ding. LSAT is a bit low for the t14. If that is your goal, you should consider a retake.

Re: UVA ED
Let's say I applied to a school ED and got deferred to the regular decision pool. Can I still apply to UVA ED after that deferral? Will the two schools see that I applied to the other ED?

Re: UVA ED
Yes, this is allowed, and no, they won't know. The only problem would be if you applied to both ED programs at the same time--implying a binding commitment to two schools at once. But, once you have been deferred to RD by one ED program, you are free of all commitments and therefore able to apply ED to another.PunjabiLower wrote:Let's say I applied to a school ED and got deferred to the regular decision pool. < 3.85, < 170 = auto-ding regardless of ED and residency

Ok...I got a waitlist email today. What do you think my chances are and what exactly does a waitlist mean?

In the past couple years and probably this year... a waitlist is a soft reject.

Re: UVA ED
Oh well...everyone here said ding or auto-ding...so I guess a waitlist is good enough. Goes to show that one should apply anywhere, regardless of what statistics tell them. I had WAY below 170 and below 3.85...everyone said I was a ding. I am not a URM and not a resident. There's always hope.

Not really. They waitlist tons of people and if you aren't helping their numbers it's going to be a long shot. Be prepared to lay down a deposit somewhere and ride this thing way into the summer. Even then, you'll be really lucky if you get off of it.

Re: UVA ED
This is exactly why WL is a soft reject. People get happy thinking they were close to an admit, when it's all the same in the end.PunjabiLower wrote:Oh well...everyone here said ding or auto-ding...so I guess a waitlist is good enough. I've got a number that helps their median and I still have 0 hope of getting off of it.im_blue wrote:This is exactly why WL is a soft reject. Re: UVA ED
Yeah but I was WLed from an ED agreement. Does that mean I will be put into the RD pool and evaluated in the next month or so and find out my decision by march or april? Or does that mean I'm on the long ass typical waitlist and if I hear anything, it prolly won't be until late in the summer?

WL means WL. When you say "put into the RD pool" you're talking about deferred.PunjabiLower wrote:Yeah but I was WLed from an ED agreement. Seeing as you are clinging for hope, someone did get off waitlist in like august last year.

Their numbers were 3.78/176 (Feb LSAT retake) and 4.0/168.ogman05 wrote:Seeing as you are clinging for hope, someone did get off waitlist in like august last year.

Re: UVA ED
Last year, I was on UVA's waitlist. I was instate with a 3.5/167. I retook in June and got a 171. They didn't release me until mid-August. This cycle I applied ED with the same application and was WL'ed again. 3.5/171 in-state is pretty solid for ED so obviously they didn't like something about my app, yet they still WL'ed me. I just think they want to be nice and not reject some people for whatever reason.PunjabiLower wrote:Yeah but I was WLed from an ED agreement.
