Interested in transferring... Could use some help :)

Post by mjs1187 » Tue Jan 12, 2010 9:06 pm

Hey all!

So i'm interested in possibly transferring out of Rutgers Camden with a 3.94. What schools should I look at? What are my odds at getting into T10?

Also if anyone knows a good resource for transfer statistics, please let me know.

Thank you in advance!

Do you know about what class rank or percentile that would put you in? It sounds really impressive, but can't give you advice without knowing exactly how impressive it is.

My school doesn't rank, however based on the grade distribution I would say that i'm definitely in the top 5% of my class.

If this is true you have an outside shot at Yale, a respectable shot at Harvard, and you're probably in at most other T14 schools. It's worth applying to any T14s you'd consider transferring to. Good luck.

Wow... Really I didn't think a 1L from Rutgers would have a chance at T14 schools.

Top 5% at T1/T2 has a shot at most T14 and an outside shot at HYS (most likely H since it has such a large transfer class every year).

When transferring, almost the only thing that matters is 1L grades. If yours are that good (and they are) you should be good almost anywhere.

There's a Yahoo! Group called transferapps... Google "transferapps" to find it. It's got a ton of information on law school transfers.
