3.6 gpa 162 LSAT male middle class and white. Hard science major from a T1 undergrad university. Top 30 school realistic?(obviously not top 20) PT at Fordham, then FT at UC Davis, U of Iowa, AZ State, and W&L?
Thanks

You are practically lock at ASU. Over the past 6 years, applicants on LSN with your numbers are 24/24, 100%. Really good shot at Iowa. Decent shot at Davis. Prob not in at F or W&L

(You should retake. 167+ will get you into the UT/USC/UMN range + $$ at T30s)

Chances at YHS?
Rest of top ten?

Thanks!

Here's how applicants with your numbers have fared over the last five cycles: http://myLSN.info/59i6dp. Application numbers have fallen precipitously over the last two cycles, and they're expected to decline further this year, so your chances will be somewhat better than the link indicates. Your numbers are considerably more valuable to law schools now than they were three years ago.

And no to the addendum.

I have a 3.45 from UGA and a 176. I know the LSAT score is good but is it enough to make up for my gpa if I apply to schools like Cornell, Duke, and as a reacher Columbia? My other choices are Indiana and UGA.

Penn, UVA, GULC, Mich are all T14 options...

You have a pretty good chance at Columbia. Chances at Columbia with those stats are better than chances at Duke.

I have a 3.53 GPA which will reach a 3.6 after this fall semester and an LSAT score of 168. I am a male URM of hispanic ethnicity. What would be my reach schools I'm thinking NYU Columbia and Cornell as my tops.
PS if somebody could tell me should I wait for my grades for the fall to come in so I have my top GPA and delay my application if I really want to get into a T14 school

Throw apps from the t4 down. Expect multiple acceptances, maybe an outside shot at H.

Increasing your GPA can do nothing but help if you're able to hold off until the next cycle.

Thanks for the response Puffin. So do you think the 3.53 to 3.6 difference could maybe make CNN more likely for me?

It can't hurt, it puts you above the 25th percentiles for Columbia and NYU so yes I think it would make you more competitive, however if you didn't want to hold your application I think you would still be competitive at CCN with a 3.53; with the worst case scenario being applying the next cycle with the increase to 3.6.

I won't make any assumptions based on your screenname, but I will tell you that the only Hispanics considered URM for law school admissions are Mexican-Americans and Puerto Ricans.

Yeah, I wondered about that. I guess we'll have to wait for more info.

I am Dominican so I am obviously hispanic however I find it confusing since some people have been telling me that Dominican is considered URM but that it just doesn't get as much of a boost as AA PR or MM. I am technically part black since my grandmother is a black dominican however I don't look black at all since my mother is white. I have always only put Hispanic or Hispanic and White on every thing that has asked about my race including the LSAT so I don't think I can start putting black now... but I don't know. What are your thoughts?

You should start a thread on the URM forum. Many more people will see your post, and you'll get better information.

Best of luck!

I'm at a 168, 3.7 undergrad changed to a 3.68 once all my transcripts were in to CRS

applying to:
Columbia, Penn, Virginia, Duke (know I am a LONG shot for those)
Cornell, UCLA, UT, Notre Dame (which are the ones I'm worried for)
Fordham, William and Mary, and Temple (which I'm pretty sure I'm in to)

Freaking out over here and just want this cycle to be over ! haha (aren't we all)

You should be into all or most of those in the second row.

You went from the 94th percentile to the 99th. Writing an addendum about being a poor test taker would be a ridiculous.

the 166 wont hurt you at all at SCCN

You're not a URM. URMs are Puerto Rican, Mexican American, African American, and Native American. If you are a Native American Dominican, or Black Dominican, fill the appropriate boxes. However, it sounds like you're not, so I don't think you count as a URM for Law School.

LSAT is 166 and GPA is 3.61. My goal school is Cornell, which puts me at the bottom of their LSAT median and the middle of their GPA and I have strong soft factors (work experience and a relevant graduate degree). Does anyone think I could get outright rejected before taking the December LSAT, if I decide to apply before then? My thoughts are that I would at least make it on the waitlist.

Came out of Oct. with a 168 LSAT, with a 3.95 GPA (at the University of Washington).

What are my chances at UC Berk, Michigan, or Stanford (probably a reach)? I already dropped UVA as a possibility given their LSAT range.

I'm also applying to UW's Law School, and trying to figure out what kind of schools are out of reach in light of this LSAT score.
