3.206 Undergrad in Economics and East Asian Studies at a mid-west state school.
164 on LSAT
unique life experience: born in Russia, lived 8 years in China

I wasn't expecting a 164 so my main choice had been Pitt. But I was wondering what you guys thought of my chances at Brooklyn and at George Washington (ED?) ? Any other schools I should look into? Thanks!

Northwestern
Cornell
NYU
Georgetown
Penn
Duke

how much do you think knocking my LSAT up a few points would help? Any feedback is much appreciated.

Honest opinion of odds for "cream of the crop" schools, specifically:

Stanford, Yale, Columbia, NYU, UC Berkeley, etc. Also for Fordham, Cardozo.

Interested in: Contracts/Torts, IP Law, Human Rights

Profile:
URM: AA male

LSAT: First time 154 (Oct 08), second time (Sep 09) 157
GPA 3.93 (LSAC), 3.87 (CUNY/Macaulay Honors), Political Science and Media (double major), Spanish Minor. tons of 300 level courses so I challenged myself too.

Extra-curricular activities: DA's Office, corporate firm, no fault firm, writer for university newspaper and major Spanish language newspaper. Founder of my own freelance Spanish tutoring and translation business, have my own blog (mostly about politics).

Recs: all know me well, 2 Columbia Law alums and the Prof I did my honors thesis with

Primarily worried about the LSAT score limiting my options. Thanks!

(Babin u seem to the the only one predicting, could you please? Thanks!)

Graduating from college at age 20 (I got bachelors in three years and started college a year early)
GPA 3.94 with an electrical engineering degree
LSAT 160
Full tuition scholarship for undergraduate
Engineering internship for two summers
Tutored throughout school year for all three academic years.
Lots of leadership with student organizations
Letters of recommendation are from engineering professors.

I was wondering about my chances at any of the top 20 schools. My focus is intellectual property.

What worries me is that my entire background is all in engineering and my LSAT score is low.

I would be applying to the joint degree program to those that offer an EE masters/JD if that changes anything.

I'm very glad to have found this thread-- thanks in advance for any opinions.

GPA: 3.43
LSAT: 176

My college (Reed) claims not to have any grade inflation, and includes a card to that effect with the transcripts, but I'm not sure how much law schools would believe that. I have two commendations for academic excellence, but almost no extracurriculars, and I am not a minority.

I'm curious about what you think of my chances at the top 14. Please be honest.

absolutely 0% chance at boalt, UCLA, BC, and GW. you have a very good chance everywhere else although i wouldn't be shocked to see a hastings or tulane ding. those two schools mysteriously get a ton of applications.

i think you're in @ cornell, NU, GULC and Duke. expect some WL action from Penn and NYU. definitely retake if you're capable of mid/high 170s. that'll shift your targets from MVP to CCN and ITE, that's a big difference.

Of the schools to which I'm applying, there are two schools which I have a question about (Vanderbilt and Notre Dame). I'm a bit of a weird case when it comes to my numbers. My LSAT is fairly straightfoward; 167. At the same time, my GPA is a bit awkward. You see, I graduated high school when I was fairly young. (14 or 15 years old) I ended up going to a community college to take care of my general education requirements. Due to my age, my GPA slipped during these years and my average for the school was a 3.0. At the same time, after transfering to a state college my GPA for that college is a 3.9. My GPA averages out to a 3.7. I'm not sure what this weird arrangement says to a law school. According to law school predictor, were they to look at my state college, then I have a great chance at both schools. If they are to look at my average, then my chances shrink considerably. If they look at my Community college grades only (which I don't know why they would), I practically have no chance at either school. Any opinions?

PS: Interesting softs.

3.45, 160, non urm. I have many awards, grants, international experiences, not that I believe that matters. I'm a Virginia resident.

I'd like to know my chances at:

Ohio State
Tulane
Denver
U Conn
Maryland

Thanks for the input- I actually just found out my LSDAS GPA is 3.49- i'll take every last point I can get haha. Does this change anything? I doubt it...

3.94 (summa) from UC Berkeley/175. good but not great softs (top 10 nationally in parliamentary debate, spent a summer working for Monitor, won an award for my thesis, plus all the standard stuff like phi beta kappa etc.) what are my chances for YLS/SLS? current list is:

Yale
Stanford
Harvard
Chicago
Virginia
Texas
Boalt
GULC
NU

and if i don't get in anywhere on the list then i'm going to apply next year and work on my resume/app...not worth wasting $ anywhere worse imo.

Non-URM, 1 year out of school, decent upward trend GPA (had a 2.21 after freshman year), 155 LSAT and 3.03 GPA. I am also retaking this Saturday and confident I will do better as I missed 15 questions on Section 3 of the September LSAT. Chances at any of these?

Stetson FT or PT
South Carolina
Ole Miss
LSU
Louisville FT or PT
Houston PT
Memphis
Texas Tech FT or PT
New Mexico
Santa Clara FT or PT
Arizona State

3.78 GPA, 161 LSAT. Have lopped off the top half of my previous list. Now I'm wondering what my chances are with Hastings and Davis. Decent LORs, very strong Personal Statement.
Anyone?

Thanks!
