Slim by the numbers, but nobody can predict how your story will impact your chances. If there's anything that mitigates GPA, working full time while raising a child by yourself is it.

I realize you might be limited geographically, but Cornell, Northwestern and even Michigan are worth a look. You should have a shot at Texas and Vanderbilt and a strong shot at George Washington.

Also, you might want to start a new thread. This one isn't checked frequently.

And are you an underrepresented minority?

Non-urm, unless a single working mother is a urm. LOL

I have to stay in the DC-Maryland area, so it needs to be GULC, GW or UMd.

John,

Seriously? Apply to HYS as your target schools and CCN as your safeties.

Now delete that post before you get bitched off this forum.

Projected GPA after LSAC hits it: 3.1-3.25 (normal GPA 3.5)
LSAT: 170
From a large state school
Great letter of recommendations
Upward grade trend
Rigorous courseload
extracurriculars and leadership positions in all for the last 3 years
Eagle Scout (still active in old troop)
no work experience, former athlete but not D1

What do you guys think my chances are for:
Cornell
Penn
Georgetown
UVA
UMichigan
Washington St. Louis
UT- Austin
Vanderbilt
Boston College

Thanks for the insight, I have a few more "softs" but they're pretty specific and I don't know how much admissions people look at these forums. (I assume they would)

Is there a better chance if I wait this cycle out? Apply Early Action to Cornell? I started reading around, I'm not a URM. I figure that if my lsac gpa is a 3.2 that I won't gain any significant boost in chances, as opposed to a 3.1something.

Ok give me some feedback... I am applying real late in the year and I feel clueless.

Senior at Indiana University (Bloomington)
3.58 gpa (that's LSAC) but mine was a 3.56 cumulative
Sports Marketing major, business minor
Projected LSAT Score:154-158
President of Sorority
involved in many other campus orgs.
interned in a law firm
Strong letters of Recommendation
Personal Statement (not written yet....)

Anyways what schools, in the midwest or California do you think I could get into with those scores?
What about:
LOYOLA Chicago, then other chicago schools
IU Indianapolis
I know nothing about CALI schools....

THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY AND ALL FEEDBACK!! :)

Anyone want to project my acceptances? 164 on LSAT, 3.0 LSDAS GPA in Chemical Engineering for my BS from a top 10 program, 3.5 GPA for my MS in Biomedical engineering from a top 30 program, full time engineering job since Sept 2007, lots of academic research experience throughout undergrad and grad school, and involvement in various academic clubs and organizations. I'm a California resident.

Here are the schools:
UC Hastings
UC Davis
Loyola Marymount
Pepperdine
USC
UCLA
Arizona
Minnesota
Wisconsin
Illinois
Iowa
Houston
Washington Univ St Louis
Cardozo
Indiana Univ Bloomington

Thanks!

Hi guys. I would like some input and critique. How badly would I be hurting my chances applying in Jan? I just graduated in Dec. and my grades will not be done till early Jan. I am a splitter so I know applying early would have been better but I had no choice. From where it stands, GPA is 2.8 and LSAT 172. I'm trying to aim for Minnesota, what are you my chances at this late in the process? I am from out of state. Not URM, are there any other schools I should be looking into with better chances? Thanks a lot.

I'm graduating from Florida State this spring, I only took the LSAT once, and I don't exactly have time to take it again - my GPA is only a 3.25, and I have hardly any extra curriculars BUT i have worked between 20-30 hours a week my entire time as an undergrad ... for most of the schools I applied I am in the 25-75 range, but just curious if anybody has any insite regarding my chances at these schools .. I appreciate it!

Brooklyn
Florida State (undergrad)
Hofstra
Syracuse
Northeastern
Penn State (Dickinson)
Rutgers
St. John's
Buffalo
Pitt
Villanova

Thanks!

(I posted this somewhere else but I'm just getting used to this board and I would love some input!)

Dood, with those numbers I would throw apps at about T7 on down. Schools like Northwestern (with work experience), UVA, WUSTL seem to be very splitter friendly and if you apply NOW, I think you could have a good shot at getting accepted to at least one T14 if not more. Don't sell youself short and go for it!!

Thanks a lot Dooder, I'll take your advice. Being a splitter, I'm just concerned I won't be even close above the T20 mark but you have given me hope. Thanks again.

3.15/155

Freshman year was at around 1.2--took four years off--and I finished off at around 3.55.

Is Wake Forest in the picture, or do i need a higher LSAT?

Thanks

I'd try for an LSAT of at least 163, preferably a few points more than that.

165 - 3.14 from a weak UC - White - Applied near deadline - Assuming average soft/PS

Do I realistically have a chance at UC Davis? (yes I know it will probably be waitlist)

Feel free to be honest :D
