I respectfully disagree. If you don't get into one of the 10-14, I'll eat my hat. If you're going to add a safety, I think its unnecessary, but add one school in 15-25. Your practically 10 year old GPA is going to count for a lot less than your brand spanking new sexy LSAT.In my opinion, you could but it would be a risk, that gpa is bad....The lsat is the nice, but I don't know if I'd not throw in some safeties...

thanks pyke. would you consider a very generic "being ill" to be a legitimate excuse?
i was planning on including a very brief addendum where i would say that i was sick when i took the test the first time. which is true. and then i would acknowledge the fact that i made a big mistake in deciding to take the test despite knowing that i was sick, instead of just waiting to take it at a later date. does this sound like a flaky excuse? should i not bother including it/just let my higher score speak for itself?

Here goes.
My profile:
LSAC GPA: 3.92 (4.0 from Degree granting institution: NYU)
LSAT: 166
Race: Korean-American
Reaches:
Stanford
NYU
Berkeley
Fits:
UVA
UCLA
Vanderbilt
USC
UT-Austin
Safeties:
U of Washington
U of North Carolina
Fordham
Considering adding 1 or 2 more from this list:
Georgetown, Cornell, Duke, Upenn (Would these be "fits" or "reaches"?)
Lemme know what you guys think; thanks!

I have a lot of faith in LSN, probably more than most on here, and of the 50 or so apps with similar numbers to mine, only 1 or 2 ever cracked the top 10 outside of Boalt, and it was usually the same 2 kids at every place.
Meaning, those are the people that transcend their numbers by doing something spectacular. I play rock music and memorize flashcards.
This = not transcendingly spectacular
I am applying to UVA, just because they sent me a fee waiver. I just can't rationalize throwing out that much app money when every piece of evidence tells me I have a 0% chance. $12? Sure, why not?
