Re: 3.53/174
Hey Moxypoxy, I have pretty similar numbers (3.52, 173) and applied to most of the same schools so I figured I'd weigh in here. I'm sure there are people who have better information than I do on the subject though.
Harvard - out
Stanford - out
Chicago - w/l in
Columbia - w/l out
NYU - in
Mich - in
Penn - in
Virginia - in
Duke - in
Gtown - in
UCLA - in
It's obviously tough to say, especially without knowing softs or anything, and I can't speak to where you will get money, but I think this is fairly accurate. I think from Michigan on down on that list you should get into most of the schools, and you will most likely get into one or two of the top ones as well. Good luck!

i like the first response better haha...but that is actually more pessimistic than I was expecting...is that based on a perceived tougher cycle?
top 10 undergrad (straight out)
very good work rec
decent school recs
couple very strong ec activities (leadership of big programs)
did why mich, why penn, something supplemental for chicago about my specific interest (i'm also from chicago)

I lean more towards this one. The GPA is going to hurt a bit at a few places. I'd say probably in at Michigan, in at Duke out at HSCCNP, the rest the same.gator06 wrote:Any softs?

I have almost the same stats at a top UG and I've gotten into NYU. I see no reason why you wouldn't get in there. Chicago and Columbia are at worst WL for you.aguyingeorgia wrote:I lean more towards this one. The GPA is going to hurt a bit at a few places. These are the most pessimistic expectations for your numbers (the ones I have quoted) and I wouldn't rely on them as accurate.

I would say in from Michigan down. Harvard and Stanford out. Columbia, NYU, and Chicago who knows b/c of the around 25% GPA and 75% LSAT. I wouldn't be surprised with any outcome there.
