I'm interested in visiting a school-attending one of their information sessions. I am working on my application now and have some free time this week to visit. I figured I might as well visit since i have free time now.
However, I am worried that I might make a bad impression on the admissions committee if I don't ask any questions and am really quiet during the whole thing. I've never been to an info session so I don't know if they go around asking for everyones' names or what. If everyone at the visit is going to introduce themselves to adcomms I will obviously go over and introduce myself very briefly. I just don't want to come off as too quiet or uninterested to the adcomms.
I'm just wondering-- how much of an impact do info sessions have on a student's app? Do the adcomms take notes of students who are there based on their level of participation and questions asked during the session? I just am naturally not a gunner-type and would like to listen rather than ask questions at these type of visits/info sessions. I don't want to make a bad impression on admissions officers!

Being quiet is a lot better than making a fool of yourself by pretending you know something about law and asking lots of inane questions. You'll be fine. Enjoy the visit!

Is there an implied dress code? Like business casual?

Most students dress in jeans and hoodies.. But I think it's fun to dress up a bit. Maybe a long sleeved crocheted dress with leggings and knee high boots and messenger bag (where you're keeping a notebook, etc. for taking notes and pretending like you're paying attention). I don't know, it's up to you. But that's what I'd wear if I were seeking something out today.taylorswiftfan wrote:Is there an implied dress code? Like business casual?
