Snowed out Law School Visit

Post by hopingtogetin » Fri Feb 22, 2013 12:46 am

Hey,
So I went South for a law school visit today, and upon arrival, I learned that there is an randomly an impending ice storm and the school might be closed tomorrow. I'm supposed to fly back to where I currently live on Saturday, so what do I do in the case the law school is closed? Should I come back and visit another time (and essentially lose the airfaire/hotel I paid this time) Wander around campus and see if any law students are around? Suggestions?

You are already there, so definitely wander around and talk to people. Even if class is cancelled, people won't just disappear. You can probably get a better idea of the school's culture by talking to people than by seeing a class anyway.

Seeing a random class is worthless.

Ask admissions if there is a student who will take you out for lunch or a beer.

Who is going to go to school when class is canceled.

Unless a student commutes, that student will still be around somewhere. In the library, studying in some other public place, etc.

Nobody lives in their law school, except for Michigan kiddies.
