I agree. I am going to wear shorts or a sundress. It's going to be super hot. I think as long as you aren't in ripped jeans or sweats you are good to go.

omg. It just hit me. I'm going to be in shorts in 3 days. It's cold, windy and rainy in Boise right now.

If there's 2 BBQ runs happening I vote for at least one of them being some time between Wednesday night and Friday night as I'll be driving back to Florida all day Saturday.
As for dress, at the Alabama ASW (which is the only one I've been do, they paid for flight and lodging!) everyone was business casual. I'm assuming the Thursday stuff will be totally casual (I'm not riding a segway in slacks) but on Friday I would have thought it'd be business casual. Is it really going to be outdoors that often?

so it occurs to me that we really have no way of knowing who is a TLS'r when we are at the ASW. Should there be some official signal?

I'm assuming that UT doesn't own a fleet of Segways and that these tours will therefore be done through a third party in which case you could wear whatever you wanted. Admissions told me via email that more logistics information would be coming via email soon (eg where the tours start from). Hopefully this includes attire.

As for secret TLS symbol, I plan on greeting everyone I meet with "The rooster crows at midnight." The correct response from a TLS'r would be to then say "Thunder." I don't see how this could possibly go wrong.

But seriously, we could find a meeting place/meeting time at the orientation - like have a TLS table at lunch or something. It'll be pretty easy to spot me. I'll be the big black dude in boat shoes.

Me too. I actually live in San Antonio, I was just planning on driving up on Friday for the day, but I'd be willing to go back on Saturday for a TLS meetup.

I dont wanna wear business casual on friday boo! I will call the admissions office tomorrow and ask what the dress code is for both days and report back to you all.
