It's like secret agents. Nobody knows who we are.akili wrote:I keep wondering who are TLSers!
But seriously, I'm bummed because I still want to do Salt Lick and I didn't find you today. Is it still going down tomorrow? I can PM anybody my fb and phone #.
It's not weird because we're in the same geographical location for a little while longer.

I was there today too... Totally bummed that I couldn't find any TLSers.... I looked for the sign at lunch, but to no avail.... I thought about randomly asking about the rooster at midnight a few times, but chickened out... I may be down for Saltlick tomorrow though....

They tasted good though. Wish I knew what you looked like, we could have talked for real. As it is I'm flying out tomorrow afternoon so won't make Salt Lick with you guys or anything.

So now that ASD is over, my end analysis: hook 'em horns.
What did ya'll think?
ETA: I can say "ya'll" now that I'm going to be living in the state.

I quite like Austin so, barring a crazy offer from Cornell, I'll be at UT. One thing that really sold me was the similarities between UT Law and Hogwarts:
1. Both have 4 sections/houses
2. Both have a restricted section/floor in the library
3. Both are led by a powerful old wizard

I loved UT and also Austin. I will definitely be attending in the fall. If anyone didn't get the chance to visit and has questions let me know. I was undecided before the trip but it totally sealed the deal!

I had a GREAT time in Austin! Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to meet with financial aid and ask some questions about their LRAP. If I understand correctly, it looks like UT has the weakest LRAP out of the several schools I'm seriously considering. I think I'll call this afternoon and if that is the case, I need to get started on negotiating for more $ from UT ASAP. If I can get a little more money from them, the deal is pretty damn close to sealed!

Yeah I thought the ASD was really solid. The dean gave a terrific speech and he really seems to be a strong leader who is working hard to build UT up. Everyone was very nice, class is so large there are opportunities to get involved in almost every field of law, weather was perfect and the city of austin has enough food and bars to last you all 3 years. The mock class was interesting and fun too. Great experience!swimmergirl1303 wrote:I loved UT and also Austin. I will definitely be attending in the fall. I liked where he said that the rankings are not important and that he doesn't really care about them, and then went on to say how significant it was that UT moved up to 14 and that he expects the school to break the top 10 in the future. =/BeachandRun23 wrote:Yeah I thought the ASD was really solid. It is great that he is ambitious, though.

I took it to mean the following:charliebrownwn wrote:I liked where he said that the rankings are not important and that he doesn't really care about them, and then went on to say how significant it was that UT moved up to 14 and that he expects the school to break the top 10 in the future. =/BeachandRun23 wrote:Yeah I thought the ASD was really solid. T-14 is a stupid construct and we don't care where the school moves within that. Yea it's great to be recognized, but it won't be much to celebrate until we're T-10

What he said is that you shouldnt choose UT because they moved up one spot and that the rankings are not perfect, which is true. Anyone who chooses UT because they moved from 15 to 14 is a little silly just as anyone who wants to work in texas but isnt considering UT because they are ranked behind cornell, gulc and northwestern is also silly.charliebrownwn wrote:I liked where he said that the rankings are not important and that he doesn't really care about them, and then went on to say how significant it was that UT moved up to 14 and that he expects the school to break the top 10 in the future. =/BeachandRun23 wrote:Yeah I thought the ASD was really solid. Going up for three nights for a mini visit. Any suggestions on where to stay cheaply near campus?
