Cooley ranked 4th in "most competitive students" in the infamous "Princeton Review." I suppose 47k average starting salary will make you cut your colleagues' throats.

Actually, it's not a bad idea. As everyone knows, law schools exist to satisfy their own interests. If a school is a tier 3/4 private school and knows that it will likely never be a top 50 school, it can generate massive amounts of revenue by doing what Cooley is doing.

I mean, obviously, cooley law school will never have a large endowment (graduates giving back). However, it generates a lot of money by accepting people with low scores that are willing to pay $30,000 a year to go to law school. By purchasing a stadium, it appeals to individuals that have low scores/don't do research. So true, to me and you, it seems silly to purchase a stadium. But to other people, it's like "holy sh*t - Cooley has a stadium?"

Regardless of what we think, the school is generating massive amounts of revenue. Possibly more revenue than 90%+ of other law schools. Is it unethical? Probably. Will it help the reputation of the law school? No. Does it generate tons of money for Cooley? Yes. Does that money satisfy Cooley's own interest? Indeed.

So while we may make fun Cooley, it is probably generating more money than the law school you go to. From our standpoint, this is irrelevant. But in the world of law schools being money making programs, Cooley isn't far from the top.
