Is this a good sign?

Post by ProspectiveLS86 » Tue Feb 02, 2010 4:39 pm

I was recently invited to Southwestern Law school's open house, despite not receiving an acceptance letter. Is this a good sign that I've been accepted or no sign at all?

Also, I was told by LMU to apply for financial aid and that the deadline is March 21st, 2009, is this a good sign that I've been accepted or, once again, no sign at all?

I received an open house invitation to a school to which I didn't even apply. I wouldn't look too far into it. Hopefully I'm wrong and it's a sign that you're in, but I don't think that's the case.

Darn. Not that I was really hoping to go to that school, but it'd be nice to have some more options. Any idea regarding the financial aid application?

Wisconsin sent me (and everyone that applied) an email requesting that they fill out a financial aid/scholarship application. They waitlisted me a week later

This might be a good sign as many get invited to the schools in which they had not even applied.....

I got a BUNCH of invites to schools I didn't even apply to-
I called one and spoke to an admissions rep (to make sure it hadn't been sent to me in error and to make sure that it got to the right person)--- I was told that they send open house invites to people from various lists-- (info from LSAC, paperwork you might have filled out, law forum meet and greets)--- the way it was explained to me, it is a way to hopefully entice people to come to, see, and fall in love with the school and then apply. The rep said that there is a big difference between an open house and an admitted students reception (at least for their particular school)--- my experience (for what it's worth) has pretty much followed this pattern. Every school I have been accepted to has both events. hope this helps.
