Haha I know, I thought the same thing. I wonder if one of the first questions we ask people we meet will be, "Are you on TLS?"aznflyingpanda wrote:But, but, how will I know who you guys are? And does anyone mind if I call you by your TLS name IRL ?michstudent10 wrote:2 weeks until the next ASW!
I say we plan some sort of get together on Thursday night just so Friday isn't so daunting.

I finally decided to make the crazy 12 hour drive from Gainesville to Charlottesville for the ASW next week. After the butt-numbing drive, I'm going to need some alcohol. Any suggestions on some cool bars to check out Thursday night?

Bar review is on Thursday, so that's where the law students (and admitted students) will be.CFC11 wrote:I finally decided to make the crazy 12 hour drive from Gainesville to Charlottesville for the ASW next week. I'll be there Thursday night as well after a long flight from Washington state w/a 4-hr layover.Cavalier wrote:Bar review is on Thursday, so that's where the law students (and admitted students) will be.CFC11 wrote:I finally decided to make the crazy 12 hour drive from Gainesville to Charlottesville for the ASW next week. Cavalier, is the bar review after the BBQ? How many people are there usually for both events?

Ouch. Sorry about your flight. I'm from WA, usually my layovers aren't that bad. Bar review usually starts around 10, so there will be a couple hours between the the BBQ and bar review. Usually turnout is very strong at bar review, but given that it's April now (and exams are a month away), I'm not sure how many people will be there. Still, it will be far from empty, and I suspect the admitted students will be especially eager to attend, so there will be plenty of 0Ls, at the very least.whattodo2008 wrote:I'll be there Thursday night as well after a long flight from Washington state w/a 4-hr layover.Cavalier wrote:Bar review is on Thursday, so that's where the law students (and admitted students) will be.CFC11 wrote:I finally decided to make the crazy 12 hour drive from Gainesville to Charlottesville for the ASW next week. Very nice, I'm guessing I won't find too many Washingtonians there. The flight back isn't as bad.

Re: UVA ASWs 2010
First time poster here...
I visited Charlottesville a few months ago when I first got accepted and did the tour, signed my lease, etc. I fell in love on the spot and sent in both deposits.
What would be the advantage of going to the ASW? I know this might be a stupid question and I'm registered in case, but its just really hard for me to take time off from work right now.
Any thoughts/opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Re: UVA ASWs 2010
Thanks for responding so quickly! Are the ASWs intended more for people considering UVA or for those who have already picked it? Like would a future 0L be at any sort of disadvantage if they didn't attend, either socially or academically in terms of knowing what specifically to expect?YCrevolution wrote:Depending on where you live and your travel arrangements, you can make money off of the trip through the travel reimbursement. Dear All,
TLS meetup is highly recommended. Buffalo Wild Wings (casual cheap) and Tara Thai (tasty tasteful) are conveniently close watering holes.

They're both off Arlington in Barracks Road right? I would totally do Thai, sounds awesome. Remember, everyone bring their internet enabled phones so we can post back and forth. I expect no real conversation here.Kohinoor wrote:Dear All,

The food is good, but their real appeal is what i consider to be a very nice bar and extensive mixed drink menu.joeshmo39 wrote:They're both off Arlington in Barracks Road right? ALSO NOT IT
NOSE
I do have a list of demands though:
Does the bar have a good beer selection? I'm more of a beer man and less of a mixed drink man. I can do a gin and tonic of course, but they gotta have that everywhere.
