UVA ASW 2010!!

Post by ogman05 » Fri Jan 15, 2010 5:56 pm

Who is going? What date? I am planning on March 19th. Probably fly in on the 18th. Would be awesome to plan a TLS meetup and maybe go out for some drinks. Anyone interested?

I think I am going for that ASW also. I don't know if I will be there on the 18th or 19th, but I was thinking about staying for the whole weekend.

The other ASW is April 9th right? During the softball tournament?
If I go in March, I won't miss class..but if I go in April, I'll miss 2 I think. Seems worth it to be there that particular weekend. What do you guys think?

I'm probably going to the March 19 one. Would love to share a hotel room with another TLSer if anyone's interested.

Also, if anyone wants to carpool from the DC area, let me know.

It sucks that I can't go to either ASW because of my spring sports schedule, everyone better have a great time in my place.

Are we supposed to get an email asking us to RSVP from them? We have to find a hotel too right?

One of my buddies from college might be in town for one of the ASW dates and wanted to go see the campus (he has no interest in law). Is this sort of thing allowed or is it strictly for admitted students?

I'll be there for March 19th ASW. Trying to find a flight to C-ville has been a pain!

What's with this hotel talk? They'll probably offer to host you.

With students? Or they'll pay for our hotel?

It looks like hotels are about $100. I'm looking to share one, if you are interested.

I just registered for March 19th also!

I opted to stay with a student - I think it's the best way to really get the whole picture. When you register the form asks if you're interested in going to local bars, restaurants, and even watch March Madness - so it seems like the hosts will really try to be entertaining.

That's why I wanted to go the student route. I don't want to be in the hotel awkwardly trying to make friends to go out and explore the town/campus.

I'm coming April 8-9, if I can make it work so I can see Chicago that weekend too. Sadly, the March 19th weekend overlaps with the national debate tournament, and I coach my college's debate program.

I'll be staying with a current (UG) student right over on sorority row :)

Yea - that's probably the best reason (and my main reason) for staying with a student host.

I was planning on flying in on Thursday afternoon and leaving Sunday morning. Is that what you're doing? I feel like 3 nights with a student host is a bit like over staying your welcome, although I'm sure they are getting paid for it.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
