My ex-gf had very expensive taste in shoes, but hated spending money on them. She loved shopping at DSW to find bargains. Her favorite find was a pair of black Marc Jacobs boots, normally $500 but on clearance for $125. She loves those damn boots.

More recently she got some Jimmy Choo boots, normally $1000, for $150 at a Haiti relief charity auction in Beverly Hills.

At her firm she wears flats for comfort around the office, but heels when she goes to court/meets with clients/etc.

Bond is 100% right. I don't know if you're a chick or a guy, something is telling me you're trying to justify your own appearance. Body build is the first thing I notice, and most of the girls I know would take a "big" guy over a skinny/fat one any time.

You may call people tools as much as you want, but the fact that athletic guys aesthetically are much more appealing is insurmountable.

I know. I'm just kidding. I'm going to go buy one of those giant tubs of whey protein and smack myself in the head a dozen or so times so I can really get pumped for my power cleans. Sexy.

Edit: We may just be arguing around the language here, in all seriousness. I think there's a difference between getting "cut" and getting "big". Most of the girls I know prefer the former and are grossed out by the latter, but body type seems largely regional. I.e., my cousins down south prefer the "big" look, as do, by all visual survey, the girls at the beach. Of course, I suspect a large New Jersey presence on here skews the results towards "big".

One must wonder what kind of girls you hang out with.

We human are prone to visual cues and more attracted to superficial features than deep "spiritual" stuff. Its really all about making the good first impression. This is what drives chicks to do boob jobs and guys to do steroids. It also makes sense in term of evolutionary biology, where females usually select healthy male over less healthy ones (analogous to law schools who will select those with higher LSATs than lower ones), excluding the less healthy male with massive amount of money (think legacies and faculty children and those who donate big to get a building name after them). At the end of the day, those male with the six packs and huge biceps usually convey a stronger appearence of health than those who does not.

The only big fat type a chick might dig are Big Fat Pandas, who despite their fur and their ridiculous amount of body fat, are the star attractions because they are cute and they are not human.

Unfortunately for me, i am human and i definitely am not going to skin a panda. So you and I are out of luck, assuming you're a dude and you don't have a trust fund.

Whoa, who was talking about steroids, it's gym, dude. Gym doesn't have to involve that crap.

I didn't mention steroids. That was the guy above. Whey protein, for the uninformed, isn't a steroid. It's a staple of the "get big" gym community. Maybe you weren't responding to me, but in case you were I thought I'd clarify. Clearly, women aren't particularly attracted to big fatty fats, but they don't seem to be attracted to "get big" guy. If you look at the Hollywood "sexy" dudes, they are almost universally in the cut/athletic cloth. The "big" guys have a fringe market, guys like the governator certainly had their fans circa the release of Conan The Barbarian, but it's rare to see muscle guy cast as the sex symbol. And I know, Hollywood might not necessarily represent reality. They do pay a lot of people a lot of money to help them understand what works, though, and it isn't coincidence that Romantic comedies are viewed as a "safe" genre. Sexy dude + comfortably beautiful girl= $$$.

For posterity,
"Cut"= Brad Pitt in Fight Club
"Big"= The Rock in Scorpion King.

I'm wondering how much more of an ass you can make of yourself here. Lets do a brief overview:

1. Whey is probably the #1 most important dietary supplement an active person, whether a distance runner, body builder, athlete, or power lifter, could take. The benefits to taking it within an hour after ANY type of workout are incredible AND scientifically proven. Your hatred of it, along with your attempt to generalize anyone who takes it as a tool, is in a word: retarded.

2. ...as is your "smack myself in the head" statement. Nice and ignorant.

3. ...as is your nonsense about power cleans.

4. "Cut" and "Big" are not mutually exclusive. Sure, looking just huge with no definition and a big gut isn't the most attractive thing, but being a skinny little shit who just happens to have a six-pack isn't the best look either. Look at Hugh Jackman in Australia or 300. That's a damn good look. Not all roided out, but he certainly doesn't look like a pussy. Hmm, wonder if he takes whey.

5. I know some girls who really like fat guys. I know some others who go for the androgynous look. Does this mean we should all aspire to be over weight or manorexic hipsters? No.

6. Body type isn't regional. Just no.

7. Jersey Shore isn't the epitome of people who lift weights. As a personal trainer, it's really easy to identify the muscular deficiencies on each "character" and laugh at how idiotic their routines must be. Just like it's pretty easy to laugh at how ridiculous you're being about this entire subject, trying to make everyone who benches more than 135 out to be the "my new haircut" guy.

Grow up

1. Whey isn't a steroid? Really you don't say

2. As I said before, Whey should be a staple of EVERY gym community.

3. Women don't like "big fatty fats?" Really? Another mind blower there. Also another thing that has nothing to do with your argument as no one goes to the gym for a gut.

4. I guarantee you that the "Get big" guys, as you put it, get women. Maybe not the same women. Maybe they do.

5. Most hollywood "sexy" dudes are all face and diet. Diet, after all, is how you get that brad pitt fight club look. It's 90% what you eat, and Brad looked much better in Troy anyhow. Regardless, Hugh Jackman looks great, Brad looks great in Troy, Gerard Butler looks great in 300 and other movies, Daniel Craig looks great in Casino Royale, etc. etc. All of these guys are both relatively "big" and cut. Hugh benched over 300 pounds in preparation for Wolverine. Ya...that's pretty "big." Notice how he's neither fat or roided up.

6. You have to realize that right now there's a big manorexic push. Look at male models. Look at clothing stores. You want to look like that then fine, but realize it's not necessarily healthy, it has A LOT to do with genetics, and you end up looking like a big pussy, especially if you don't have the model face to pull in girls anyhow. Sure, you'll always find someone to sleep with, but in the meantime try being healthy and lift some actual weight.

All right, guy. Cool the rage before you shoot your family in the face and then hang yourself in a closet, leaving behind a budding pro wrestling career.

For the record, I'm not sure what was nonsense about power cleans. Especially given that you called out the head smacking preface separately.

Finally, clearly I've upset your Jersey roots. I apologize for that, and hope you don't try and assault me in a large green, though finely groomed, radiation induced evolutionary form of yourself.

Not cool about the family remark. Pretty inappropriate. And I'm not from Jersey nor do I look or act like them in any way. Try again.

Ahem, this is my subjective opinion that a lot of girls I know happen to agree with, but

THIS is skinny:

Eh, Brad Pitt was sexy in Fight Club and I'd characterize his physique as "athletic" ... although I too prefer the beefier-Dwayne Johnson "athletic" type. IRL a guy like Brad Pitt as pictured would be nothing to scoff at; except of course that he's dirty and covered with blood.

haha, well, I don't really like Brad Pitt in general and never undertood why he's considered the sexiest or whatever man out there. Even though he's athletic, he's just too skinny by my own standards and his face is no better than Ok. So if I had to rank, Pitt would be a 6, and Johnson would get a 9 at least

Just look at this, he's horrible!

Coming from a girl who grew up in New Jersey (so trust me, I've seen my share of "big" guys with the size of their egos obviously making up for the lack of size in their pants)...

Muscular and in-shape = hot
"Big" juicehead = repulsive

Club whores like veiny roid ragers who GTL all day long (I understand that GTL is a "Jersey Shore" phrase, I learned this from the high schoolers I tutor...mind you, I never heard of this growing up at the shore, but whatever). Respectable women like men who are in shape and in tune with their bodies. The "big" guys, 99% of the time, are juiceheads, and steroids kill brain cells and sperm and ability to control rage. I'd rather a good looking, intelligent, fertile guy than a macho flaccid face-pummeler.

I'll chime in on this since I have lots of experiencing working out and working in the gym as a trainer. I've asked a lot of women, and being lean is much more important than getting big. Notice I said being lean and defined, not being skinny.

The problem with guys that "get big" is that they over do it. They put on too much muscle mass for their body, and at the expense of being defined. Lifting to get big is fine, but at some point you reach a limit, and everyones limit is different. If you look at Dwayne Johnson (the rock) in the previous picture, you see he has a lot of muscle mass. He is naturally a huge guy so he actually looks good with this size. If someone like Brad Pitt tried to put on that mass, he would look absolutely ridiculous. Fortunately, hollywood trainers have some sense. To the person that said Brad Pitt is skinny in fight club, you and your friends may think so and different women have different preferences. However, that particular look is considered an extremely sexy look by a majority of girls I talk to.

Agreed...both Brad in Fight Club and The Rock (in general) are good looking guys, because they understand how to gain muscle correctly (The Rock is still a little big for my taste, but he's not ridiculous). The "club promoters" around here (who somehow track me down on Facebook every 5 minutes to tell me about their bottle service at X club in downtown Chicago...no one gives a shit) look silly, to be perfectly honest. Lay off the juice and get a real job hahaha.

Cool. You know, I even went to find some more pictures... still stand by my point: bones & skin

For the record, just because Hollywood is selling something, doesn't really prove anything. It's PR, honey. And people are sheep, they like buying stuff, so when they say I like this and that, a lot of times they actually think about something someone was trying to "sell" them. It especially applies to America with its celebrities frenzy (no offence here).

Again, just because I don't find him let alone his body very attractive, doesn't mean others shouldn't. It's just that a lot of times "oh XYZ's body is so sexy" claim, does not necessarily reflect that person's idea of attractiveness. Brainwashing rocks :|

I'd just like to bump the last on topic post in this thread so maybe this person can get an answer.
Once you're admitted I'd say it really doesn't matter. Open toed like peep-toe probably totally fine and more appropriate than sandals, but I don't think they'll retract your admittance even if you roll in wearing flip-flops

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
