Really, though, I think brodom calls for a more expansive definition than the one under which you are operating. They have bros at state schools (and not just the big Virginia one).
I tentatively agree with you. I think a consensus on the definition of bro would be useful. But also, there are many bros at state school that wear appropriate bro attire. additionally, many fratty bros are very elitest. thats just the way it is.

If we're talking Ed Hardy and hair-gel type bros, then perhaps Miami?

You mean is that how I can claim URM status? Partly.

An AA bro. 8) The MOST URM.
That could make for a great diversity statement.

We could narrow it down, case by case. Consider the the following:

Dave Franco's character on the new season of Scrubs (see below) is what I think people on this site would define as a "bro". Part gunner, part d-bag, all bro. ...For anyone who has watched the show, he actually reminds me of one person in particular on this board. But I'll keep that to myself.

Bros or not bros?

Definitely not bros in the San Diego definition, i.e. lifted trucks, fox racing, going "froadin" (off-roading), and yes, ed hardy. Apparently there's an east coast bro vs. west coast bro debate brewing.

I think it's more coastal vs. Southern.

The coasts seem to have the more "guido" or "Affliction-wearing tough guy" perspective. The traditional dude-bro is the popped collar, khaki-loving croakies fan, as pictured. These are the "Southern" bros, IMO.

Close. It's a random USC fraternity that I found on the 'net at the Carolina Cup.

i think these morons think of themselves as "bros," but really, they are douches. it's hard to SOUND like a douche. but op and friends do it to perfection.

but there will always be a long line of girls waiting to pander to their douche-tastic antics, so who's the real idiot here?

this picture has to be taken at the U of South Carolina fair grounds before a football game, right?
I actually wouldn't be surprised if it was at LSU- purple and gold frat flag in the back gives evidence towards that argument.

Nope definitely at Carolina Cup. You can tell because they give you that white circular tag/ticket to put around your belt when you go. The flag is for a frat and purple and gold are their colors.

That guy 2nd from the right (pink shirt) needs to pull up his britches.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
