Cornell EA Deferred Crew
Alright, who is hanging on with me? After the bitterness wears off, we all know we still want Cornell to accept us. Plans to get off the WL?
I figure that everything hinges on my grades next semester. Anything lower than a 3.8, and I have no chance. After I update my transcript (hopefully with a 4.0) I will probably send a LOCI that discusses my improved grades, promotion to supervisor at work, working at a JDC as a tutor, and name-drop Andy Bernard.
Other people's plans?

I need to reply to that letter.
I'll send a LOCI in mid Jan, too.

I already sent a LOCI. Except for updating my transcripts and adding another LOR, I have nothing else to send in. I hope it's enough.

Planning on doing the LOCI after Christmas. I don't really have anything else to add.

Re: Cornell EA Deferred Crew
It was really just a long response to the deferral letter. I stated my reason for wanting to remain in consideration, why I love the school, etc. I plan on sending one every month until I am accepted or rejected

Re: Cornell EA Deferred Crew
on the letter it says they're not going to look at us again until after February. i'm going to take my time, have my editors take a good look at it and update it with my recent activities as well as additional addendums. I don't think we need to respond right away, just before the February deadline is what it says, and if they're not going to look at me again until then I am not going to rush a paper and have regrets later on (I am paranoid when it comes to writing LS essays). Best of luck to everyone.

Re: Cornell EA Deferred Crew
I'm retaking the goddamn LSAT. For the third time. This is how badly I want Cornell. I'm going to wait until after Christmas for the LOCI. I need some time to reflect on what I want to say. Not sure I will do anymore LORs. My first two say I am among the best students they have seen in their careers, I have to drudge up a third person to say the same thing? Maybe it's time to fess up to my boss, and ask for a work LOR...

I'm going to write a 1 page Why Cornell, send them an additional LOR, and a copy of the publication I work on. I may also send them a treat!

Grudgingly joining this thread. Not that I don't love the company or anything, just the circumstances.
I've got some decent stuff to put in a LOCI--but I've come to the realization that I just need to retake the LSAT.

Count me in too, but I have nothing to add in a LOCI and I doubt retaking would matter for me.

Re: Cornell EA Deferred Crew
I sent a brief LOCI; they confirmed when they received it that it would be added to my file. I'm also expecting a promotion at work before too long, so hopefully I'll have reason to send them a positive update.

Yeah, I don't have anything to say. I'm wondering if maybe I should retake the lsat, but idk what good that would even do.

Re: Cornell EA Deferred Crew
I've found my home.
I feel like everyone who got deferred has a chance. They'd have flat out rejected us if they weren't considering us at all. Plus most of us are pretty darn close to their medians...
I'm sending a LOCI with an updated resume and possibly another LOR. Though I sort of agree with the above poster who mentioned that if you've already sent two, how much more is a third going to help you.
Good luck to everyone!

I think I belong here too. I'll send a LOCI sometime after the holidays, along with, I hope, an improved score from the December administration.

Re: Cornell EA Deferred Crew
For your information no one has been waitlisted. It is simply a reserve until they regard the regular pool. Which by the way I was informed that they would begin to re-look at reserves when they get back in the new year. Furthermore, people on the reserve have a high change of admittance. Many acceptances will not result in matriculation and as such Cornell will have to draw highly on their reserves.
I'm from Canada so I think I was put on reserve because they weren't convinced of my interest in attending an American school. I'm sending an impassioned LOCI about why Cornell really is the place for me and also an additional LOR from my Associate Dean and an updated transcript.

Going to send a LOCI soon, maybe an updated C.V., another LOR, we'll see.
Good luck to everyone here!

Re: Cornell EA Deferred Crew
Got the official letter today, after calling earlier this week. Question: are you guys planning to send your LOCI by e-mail to the address listed in the letter or by snail mail to the admissions office?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
