i think you'll get accepted more likely than not.... but as for money... they probably would have run out or something lame like that.
yeah. dumb adcomm for assuming I'd pick ranking over cash. or whatever they did.
well I highly doubt Hastings would match the sort of money you are getting from W&L. If cash is your focus I think that may work out for you best in the end.

have you made up your mind yet if you'll attend hastings?

Not yet. But it's between Hastings and Davis at this point. I'm going to the Davis ASD on April 10th so my decision will be made within a month. Though I must say Davis will have some convincing to do...

Attn Hastings: A scholarship would really help make my decision easier!

12.6k hastings grant here I WIN HAHAH

Awww you win!

same; waiting on hastings and davis; complete 1/5

Anyone know when the tuition deposits are due at these schools? I feel like they should probably make decisions by then?

I went complete 1/22. I don't know if no news is good news. I wonder if they are waiting to see if people don't accept spots so they can offer them to someone else or if after all this waiting it will just be a flat out rejection.

I'm hoping that maybe they're waiting to see what the yield will be on the people admitted with 4/1 deposit deadlines before making any other decisions. From what I understand, though, those are just people who received scholarships, so I'm not sure how numerous that group of depositors may be.

I'm still waiting for a decision as well. In previous cycles, my numbers would have been competitive. But, with Hastings desire to enroll a smaller class, combined with the surge in applicants to law schools in general, it may be that they have admitted all that they can at this point.

First deposit for Davis is due on April 15 and the second one is due on June 15. But the admitted students event is on the 10th, so I think Davis will be having lots of activity soon.

No, but I just sent in my request on Friday. I highly doubt they'll match my other offers but it's worth a shot.

I did before first round of scholarships were handed out, but I don't know if it helped me get the 10k. But I did get a reply and had a chain of them after.

Do you think having debt increases the likelihood of getting a grant? I'm thinking of taking all of the loans so that I am in debt. If the grant I get next year is greater than the extra interest I would otherwise rack up, it might be worth a shot. But then I'll still have some savings (maybe close to 10k), and that's probably another factor in not granting me...

I think your savings is a factor.

When I first submitted my fafsa, I omitted my savings and my efc was 15k.

I corrected my fafsa a month later to add in my savings and my efc is now 20k.

Even without my savings info, i would have probably been inelgible for any need base aid.

Hrm, the dean of finaid said 70% of applicants get some need aid. It can't be because of my scholarship, right? They are supposed to be independent.

But I do want to know if being more in debt (35k-50k instead of 20k) will have them think next year that I should get some grants.
