Dorm-sized probably means this:elmeromero wrote:Anyone know how big the refrigerators are in the efficiencies? I mean, can I fit a gallon of milk in there at least?
It'll be too damn small to fit everything, so I may have to consider getting something bigger.

I'm not confident the dorm-sized fridge will allow me to brown-bag my lunches and dinners. Any chance someone could recommend me a decently priced fridge for one?

Costco usually has a pretty decent small-to-mid size fridge in stock that seems intended for students.zeth006 wrote:I'm not confident the dorm-sized fridge will allow me to brown-bag my lunches and dinners. Any chance someone could recommend me a decently priced fridge for one?

I'll probably stop by just to check some out tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestion.

If you are thrifty, I'd also check out craigslist. I can only imagine there are a bunch of mini fridges going up there over a period of time. Depending on how the fridge in the studio works out for me, I might pick on up (plus it can act as counter space ).

Target has a great mid sized one for 159.00. Take 280 south to Colma.

Not sure if it'll fit in my car. Does Target do deliveries for extra? I may need help bringing it up to my place.MD/JD2B wrote:Target has a great mid sized one for 159.00. Take 280 south to Colma.

Not sure if they deliver; I have a four door sedan and it barely fit on the back seat...

maybe this is a dumb question, but does everyone have to go to all three days of orientation? it just seems like a LOT of time for something like that

It's says "mandatory orientation", so I'm guessing they want you to be there all three days.l'uccello wrote:maybe this is a dumb question, but does everyone have to go to all three days of orientation? it just seems like a LOT of time for something like that
If you don't go, I doubt they'll do anything to you, but is it really that bad?

You guys should all go to orientation and say hi to me ("wave your hand back if you are a male human!") because I'll be too shy to approach anyone.

Trust me, I'm the same. But like it or not, we'll have to make friends fast if we want to form weekly study groups.
Not that I'm really advocating that we cede our anonymity on TLS, but if the Hastings people here ever want to meet up to share tips and outlines, I'd be totally down for it.

I don't even know how we're supposed to study. Is it basically office hours with people who don't know anything who end up just sharing YouTube videos?zeth006 wrote:a male human wrote:You guys should all go to orientation and say hi to me ("wave your hand back if you are a male human!") because I'll be too shy to approach anyone.

I'd go to orientation all three days; they will have the finest restaurants in SF catering the event (much like ASD) and numerous raffles for IKEA furniture.

I figured if anything else there would be free food at orientation.
I missed ASD. Which restaurants catered the event?

Dumb question. Does the Tower have mattresses already, or do we need to buy our own.

Re: UC Hastings 2010!!!
Did anyone else receive an email a couple of days ago saying that the orientation schedule had been posted on webadvisor?? My phone buzzed late at night, so I was half asleep when I saw the email, but when I woke up the next morning, the email had vanished. Anyone else experience this???

Never mind, checked Outlook Web. Does anyone else find this system pretty difficult to use? I have to go to some "email" page on the uchatings website, and then if I don't remember my login info, there's no easy way to recover it.

I've got the email in my .edu account with a link to the PDF orientation schedule. I've got my student email account set up as an exchange server on my iphone, so I receive push notifications when something is sent to that account. I'd probably never check that account otherwise.

Dear UC Hastings Class of 2013,
Welcome! Staff and faculty are getting ready for your arrival in just a few short weeks. As you know, the Mandatory Orientation for all incoming first year law students is Wednesday, August 18th through Friday, August 20th. A variety of programs and events are scheduled to help introduce you to the study of law and to the Hastings community.
To view the current schedule, please visit the Orientation webpage: --LinkRemoved--. There you will find a link to the detailed schedule. There are a few details remaining to be finalized. However, the overall time and schedule structure is not anticipated to change. You will receive a hard copy of the final schedule when you check-in the morning of August 18th.
If you have any questions please contact us at the email address and phone number below. Thanks and we look forward to seeing you soon!
