Nice. The student group couldn't claim a restriction on free speech, anyway, unless free speech means no less than forcing a school to disregard its anti-discrimination policies, and allowing unrestricted use of its logo. I don't need all those things in order to speak freely, I don't know about you guys...

Does anyone know if the WL email sent on June 14th went out to the remainder of the WL or a small group similar to the one that went out in May? How much hope are we putting into this June 14th email?

Accepted from the waitlist, and I'm attending. Still kind of in shock...

Good luck everyone!

Out of ignorance, I ask this--do all law schools keep people waiting this long? It seems so absurd.

anyone recently accepted off the WL care to share their stats
to help a lonely waitlister create hypothetical situations?

163/3.82, 37 year-old non-trad, non-URM, late application (mid-January), expunged non-violent felony arrest from 2002. Try to draw conclusions from that one!
Withdrew after offer.

Did I just see you walk past me on UCD campus today? Walking into Mrak Hall, around 1:00 pm? If not, someone sure looks like your avatar.

I didn't get in either today. Let's hope for July I guess. Did anyone else get the email a few weeks back but didn't get the call today? I am definitely feeling like the odd man out.

Congrats to everyone who got in!!!

Received a message at 4:44pm today regarding my status on the WL but called back too late to find out the ultimate reason for the call. Guessing from the action today I'd say in off the WL (158/4.0).

Congrats Satchmo!!!

That's exciting. So were you planning on USF or McGeorge prior to your acceptance at Hastings?

What's everyone's personal reasons for choosing Hastings? For me it's the relative distance, the diverse courses and that its rank is somewhat high.

registering for fall classes has been a minor disappointment for me....all of the classes I want to take seem to be offered at the same time. for example...

sales and leases (essentially an advanced contracts course)
criminal procedure w/ the professor I like
international business transactions
secured transactions

are all offered at the same time (12-1.10 or 2.20 mtwth). Also a large number of the 2L courses are offered from 940-1050 or 1150. And all of the non-GPA seminar courses like negotiations/settlements and trial advocacy courses (except those offered once again at 940) were full by the time my window opened. And I had the 2nd 2L window.

It's a minor frustration...overall I am still quite happy with the school. And I can imagine it is difficult scheduling all of these classes with limited space and a limited budget.

Thanks, I'm still processing the information, haha.

I was planning on McGeorge and I still think I would have done pretty well and been happy there, but Hastings is the clear choice for me.

Plus, I was just about to give notice at my apartment in a few days, which happens to be 4 blocks from Hastings and affordable. Great timing!

So I called Mr. Canada back and it seems that he wanted to double-check my continued interest in Hastings. He mentioned having made several offers yesterday, but did not go as far as extending an offer of admission during our conversation. He said he would call back on Thursday with news one way or another. Almost WL-->Accept?

Quick question for the UC Hastingsites. Is there any convenience in bringing a car to school? If I bring my car and commute with it, are there any extra costs, hassles, or dangers I should take note of?

Parking fee? I think it's $10 max.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
