Re: St. John's 2013
I got my acceptance, along with $27k a year scholarship yesterday so I highly doubt that they've filled every last one of their spots. Don't give up hope!

Can I ask you, you had a 171 and a 4.0 and didn't get in? How is that possible?
171? Where does it say that? My stats are 158, 4.0.

Oh, I see it in my profile. Sorry about that, I never use this thing and didn't know it said that.

Well, with a 158 and a 4.0 you have a pretty good chance, you never know. I hope it goes well for you!

I got acceptance letter with a full scholarship about a week ago so they definitely still have spots.

I got in less than 2 weeks ago and my girlfriend got in last night. We both applied end of February, so I'd imagine there are still some spots

FYI, I just called admissions to ask them a question and got a message that the office is closed until 4/6.

Accepted via snail mail.
For those who got $, did you get it in the same envelope as the acceptance or in a separate mailing?

No money for me

If I'm going to pay full price, I might as well go to Brooklyn/Cardozo? Right?
What are you guys doing? going with $ or highest ranked?

can i ask what your lsat score was? our stats based on ur profile are similar so I just wanted to check. thanks!DEANBIGBROTHERALMI-T wrote:in with a full scholarship.
my #1 with a bullet. just attended the admitted students day this past weekend. really enjoyed it. liked the campus, liked the building, liked the area of queens it's in.
now just need to wait to hear from fordham and dozo and maybe cornell by april 15th.
i feel like going to law school for free provides a flexibility after law school that cant be beaten. but we shall see.

Re: St. John's 2013
Just got in to the evening program with $27K/year scholarship. Scholy info came with acceptance letter via snail mail. I applied March 1 and the letter was postmarked March 31. I was planning on taking lsat again to possibly get into Fordham evening with some money or a full at St Johns next cycle. But with this response I may just ask for a full for this fall since the full scholarship is ultimately the most important factor for me.

I'm going with the $. There are somewhat better job opportunities at higher ranked schools, but I don't feel like they are different enough to justify 100k+ of extra loan debt, especially when you are talking about the differences between non-top schools in the same region.knickfan wrote: What are you guys doing? going with $ or highest ranked?

Acceptance via snail mail today. 12.5K yearly, top 50%.
Has anyone been successful at negotiating a higher scholarship from them before?
Stats: lsat 162, lsdas 2.85, ugpa 3.15

Re: St. John's 2013
I agree, especially with the job market and economy. Sure, the economy will pick up by the time we graduate, but the job market is still going to be weak. Less loan debt provides more flexibility and relieves some of pressure. However, I think the question gets trickier if the price difference between the two schools is less than 75K.Trifles wrote:I'm going with the $. I sent in my deposit as well Unless one of the schools I haven't heard back from miraculously give me a full ride + stipend, then I'll be seeing you all in the fall.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
