PRETTY UPSET, I havent head back yet...but the admissions office said there was a decision made, and I should be notified within 2 weeks. Other people have had an april first deadline, and this makes me think that I am WL or Deny...any input on this?

i hope that's not the case. im still waiting for my third recommender so i definitely wont be hearing back from FIU by april 1st. is it known to be harder to get accepted to FIU after april 1st?

Thanks, as far as I know it may be more difficult for you as far as an acceptance goes...the best of luck though. I went complete mid January so I am in a little bit of a different situation as far as the seat deposit. I guess we will see within 2 weeks!

Received my acceptance letter just now from Alma Miro, at 10:10 pm via email. It said a hard copy would be mailed to me soon. No mention of $$$ though. April 1 deadline.

How are most people being notified of scholarships? Has anyone been offered anything after they received the initial acceptance letter? Or are most people being notified of awards right away?

I received this same email....I am very excited!!! I think they only sent it out because they want to have seat deposits by April 1. Either way I am ecstatic.

Is it just me or is FIU trending towards higher GPA's rather than higher LSAT scores? LSN does not show anyone accepted with below a 3.0 average. People with pretty good LSATs (Mid to High 50's) are getting waitlisted with low GPA's. It could just be my imagination though.

In with 3.0 156....amazing recommendation letters and very solid PS...very strong upward trend.

I got my acceptance letter about a month ago and I received a letter with my scholarship this week. I will be withdrawing soon so hopefully someone else gets the money

I didn't get a scholarship, per se. It was a grant, 5K per school year. I got a phone call from the admissions office and then they sent the award letter overnight.

I am deferring my admission one year. Best of luck to you all.

I am concerned about the posts regarding April 1st as the decision date and wondering if I screwed myself by applying so late =/. Congrats to everyone who did get in!

On the evening of March 17th, I received a phone call from Alma Miro. She informed me about their offer, and the award letter was mailed out by express mail the following day.

FYI: If you qualified for any of the merit-based scholarships, you would have received a letter by now. However, as people reject their offers, these scholarships re-open so to speak. As for the need-based financial aid, none of those letters were sent out until the end of last week.

I think you are okay because April 1st is the first deadline for a seat deposit for the first round of acceptances. As the cycle continues, they will make safe acceptances (meaning acceptors that actually will attend in the Fall) to balance their selectivity rating. We should be hearing about the next round of acceptances in mid April. Then, people will start being selected from the waiting list in May-Aug.

my 3rd LOR finally made it to LSAC today so now my app is complete. i guess the timing is kind of bad since they just sent out a bunch of acceptances. we'll see how long the decision takes from here.

Does anyone that plan on attending FIU want to meet up get to know each other before the year starts....any PT people especially seeing as that is the program I will be attending.

Waiting to hear back from FIU. 162/3.4. Applied a couple of weeks ago. Does anyone know when the first seat deposit deadline is?

Thanks for the info. I applied mid Jan. but I didn't get my 3rd LOR until the beginning of March. I can't take the waiting any longer, and I hope to hear something (anything) today so that I can get on with my life. It's killing me! I can barely function!!

In as of Saturday. Deposit deadline of 4/12. I Applied 2/11 and my 3rd LOR arrived about 3/15. I sent in my deposit and will be attending.

I called yesterday to check on my status. I went complete on 3/1. They told me I would be notified via mail within 3-10 weeks of going complete. This could take some time.

sent seat deposit today for the PT progrram.
