Re: Emory 2010
Called a couple days ago. Went complete 1/4... the woman I spoke with (who was actually pretty nice) told me they haven't reached my application yet. C'mon Emory! They do like to take their time there.

Did anyone get an email asking for you to confirm whether or not you received your admissions packet?

Do you think they would fall for it if I said that I didn't, and that they should send me an admissions packet immediately?lawduder wrote:Did anyone get an email asking for you to confirm whether or not you received your admissions packet?

Re: Emory 2010
I got one yesterday. I called to confirm but could not be told the decision over the phone. Does the wording of the email make it seem like it is an acceptance to you? At one point it says "decision letter" but at another it says "admissions packet."lawduder wrote:Did anyone get an email asking for you to confirm whether or not you received your admissions packet?
My LSAT is good for Emory, though my GPA is not too high above 3. Are you an auto-admit? I'm just hoping these weren't the first round of WLs or rejects.

167/3.55 - I doubt they'd have the subject title as "Admissions Packet" and it be a rejection.twintipping_bumps wrote:I got one yesterday. Mine just had the subject "Emory School of Law," so maybe it was different.

also, it's really annoying that they won't tell you your decision on the phone after they admit they made a mistake..

Re: Emory 2010
I got that strange email too. 169/3.5
Was starting to become a little worried
Pretty unprofessional for Emory to "lose" or "misplace" people's admissions packet IMO
I just hope there's a big $$$ number in there [strike]when[/strike] if I get the packet

Did everyone who was recently admitted receive scholarship info in the admissions packet?

The admissions office sent me a scan of my admissions letter due to their little mishap which includes a nice scholarship offer.cardinalandgold wrote:Did everyone who was recently admitted receive scholarship info in the admissions packet?

I got the email with scanned letter this evening and am in with 54k. I began doing some focused research on the Atlanta area today.

I didn't expect to get $60k. UF was currently my top choice, but they've given me absolutely nothing as far as scholarships go. Right now I'm looking at $21k/year at Emory and $15k/year at UF. It's starting to look like Emory might be worth the extra $6k/year...

You might also want to do a little research on Decatur, because Emory is actually closer to Decatur than a lot of Atlanta areas. Decatur has some pretty good bars and restaurants.twintipping_bumps wrote:I got the email with scanned letter this evening and am in with 54k. No getting around it, Emory is worth the extra money.lawduder wrote:+1twintipping_bumps wrote:I got the email with scanned letter this evening and am in with 54k. I began doing some focused research on the Atlanta area today.
