Does anyone know how splitter friendly Emory is? my numbers are 172/2.73, unremarkable softs - but a strong upward trend (failed two years that I can explain in an addendum, straight As last three semesters). I'd love to live in Atlanta

Well LSN shows that Emory seems to like some splitters, but most of those with your GPA are dinged or waitlisted. I didn't see anyone with your exact LSAT score, though. I'd throw an app just to be sure, since splitter cycles are tougher to predict, but you should really apply to WUSTL, they're notoriously splitter friendly.fsusplitter wrote:Does anyone know how splitter friendly Emory is? my numbers are 172/2.73, unremarkable softs - but a strong upward trend (failed two years that I can explain in an addendum, straight As last three semesters). In at Emory via snail mail today, with a very kind personal note from Ethan Rosenzweig. Complete 12/3 with 171/3.75.

Accepted via Snail Mail. As far as I can tell I never received a phone call which is strange because that seems to be the way everyone else has gotten in...

Actually I think most of us just got the snail mail. I believe they only made a few calls.jlue05 wrote:Accepted via Snail Mail. As far as I can tell I never received a phone call which is strange because that seems to be the way everyone else has gotten in...

emory is not very splitter friendly. I got accepted late last year (April) with about your LSAT and a GPA a little over 3. I think Emory can get all the 165's they want, so they focus on the high GPA kids.

That's probably the nail in the coffin of my 3.4/163. I figured I would get WL/denied, but I have no idea. I am really banking on personal statement at this point...which is not a good situation to be in.

In today via snail mail! Very strange since I never even got an e-mail acknowledging that my app was complete, & I only submitted 2 weeks ago.

Does anybody know if Emory has any ties to jobs in Texas? I know it's doubtful, but wondered if anyone had some insight.

Less than 3% of the 2008 Class went to TX, AR, or LA...almost 40% stay in GA (most in ATL). But, they do have grads in both Dallas and Houston.
I see very very few OCI firms from TX, but they do participate in a Dallas Job Fair (as well as one for many other large cities).
