I got it too - I haven't gotten my acceptance packet yet. I called them on Friday, and they said I had been accepted though, and that they sent it out at the beginning of last week. Given that I live 15 miles from Emory, I'm starting to wonder...

Same thing happened to me with Vandy, and WashU forgot to send me their email so I had to wait 2 weeks. This is 3 out of 4 schools that have screwed up my acceptance in some way. Fail. Very happy, but fail nonetheless

It's a big white envelope, 10 x 13 or something like that. Typical admitted students fare -- a viewbook for admitted students, forms for returning seat deposits, and a Visiting Day brochure. Nice note from the assistant dean of admission as well.

You are in, only admitted students got that email.

How long did it take you guys to get the scholarship info after aceptance? I really want to know to see if I should pay a visit to Emory or not.

I actually like the changes to the curriculum, especially since regulatory law is a major interest of mine.

How's Emory with need-based aid, typically?

+1 changes are nice, anything that lets you choose your own course is great

if i didn't get any info on scholarships in the packet sent via postal mail, does that mean that they're not giving me anything? I can't remember my username to sign on to the website....

Many people have received separate scholarship mailings...there should be somewhere on OPUS where you can reset or search for your username.

Basically they've added a new required class called Legislation and Regulation to the first semester. Also they've combined Civ Pro into one four hour class as opposed to two three hour semesters worth. And in your second semester you will now be able to choose an elective.

Ugh sounds like a lot of material for civ pro.

there is a trend in lots of higher ranked schools to teach policys to 1Ls. The feedback I've heard from most 1Ls is that they either despise the class or are very "meh" about it.

Basically want to steamroll this thread with a huge HELLO to future classmates.
Seat deposit sent.

I'll be moving to Atlanta from Houston in 2 months.

Waitlisted today with a 166, 3.53. Kind of surprised, but not too bummed about it as I'm from Texas and Emory probably wouldn't of been a great choice for me anyway. Maybe they hate kids with P.I's. Good luck to everyone else.

I just got waitlisted today too with a 166/3.6. I was really excited about Emory, so its pretty disappointing.

I visited on Friday. For the size of their endowment, their facilities seemed a little dumpy/outdated. I met with Dean Rosenzweig and he said that they have a zero scholarship negotiation policy and then he was also very transparent with me on how they select scholarship recipients. Overall, he was a very pleasant man and I appreciated his honesty in re: scholarships. He tried to make the pitch for me to attend at sticker and seemed sincerely interested in my future.

I'll be withdrawing tomorrow (Monday).

TheBigMediocre - I've liked your posts... I require you to spend sticker and join the Emory ranks. I need interesting classmates not full of suck. You going to UGA/Vandy then?

Big Mediocre, can you elaborate on what the Dean said re:scholarships. I'm curious considering that our numbers are very close to each other and I haven't heard anything about scholarships. I have heard/seen enough disparaging things about Emory in general to rule it out entirely, but I'm finding it pretty surprising that it seems like sticker is going to be their best offer.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
