I thought at some point they said we'd receive our financial aid award packages in May or June.

http://studentaffairs.case.edu/living/s ... ha/search/ - Found this while searching through a Cleveland-Marshall thread, interestingly, but it is by far the most helpful thing I've found.

slightly off topic, but does has anyone have info about housing? I've been looking at a few places, such as Kensington Place, but have heard a lot of conflicting advice. Are there any areas/apartments that are particularly good to live in, or, conversely, to stay away from?

So, hello, I supposedly received a phone call from Case today (as stated in an "alarming" email from Case), though my phone shows no record of the call. I was in a graduate course and therefore, could not have answered the phone, since it was on silent.

How "good/promising" is a phone interview at Case? I noticed that a poster asked a similar question to this one, many pages ago, and was not answered. I thought it would not hurt to ask again.

I'm not attending Case, but I can tell you that for me, and for others I spoke to the phone interview was basically to gauge your interest in attending, and from all the cases (pun) I've seen, if you express interest in the school and don't give them any reason to think you won't attend, you should be in.

I didn't go back and reread the whole thread, but iirc, a phone interview is a good sign. If you fail to ever call them back or otherwise fail standard social norms during the interview it could be a bad thing. But overall people that did the interview seemed to be getting in.

That said, I was accepted without an interview (as several others stated they were too).

If I were you, I would do some brief research into their programs that interest you (you may already have this done), return the call and do the interview.

I think it's a very good sign.

Good luck! :)

Thank you for such quick and informative responses. I hope to get the phone interview business settled tomorrow. Perhaps the people at Case called the wrong phone number. I looked at my application and my correct phone number was on it. Hopefully, I will get to the bottom of it tomorrow. In response to the email Case sent, I responded inquiring into the nature of the "immediate attention."

My numbers are okay - nothing to write home about. 160 LSAT and 3.38 (According to LSAC and not my graduating GPA) Undergraduate GPA. I would like to go to Case for their dual program in Bioethics and Law (concentration on Health Law).

Does anyone know when Case will have employment stats for the class of 2009? I can't find anything on their website.

USNWR Newest Career info:

76K-145K

110K median for private
49K for public

68% reporting

Firms: 47%
Judicial clerkship with federal judge: 3.1%

MA: 14%
ENC: 52%
SA: 16%
PA: 6.3%
INTL: 2%
(100% Reported)
The rest are 3.1% or lower

that's from a post by charlesjd earlier in the thread. I don't think schools have their 2009 stuff up yet, so USNWR might be all you can get.

The above stats are 2008 stats. The NALP breakdowns are 2009 breakdowns, and Case told me that median salary and the salary range is down a bit this year (I think total median and average are in the 60s this year, which means I'd guess Law Firm median is down to 90 or 100k).

Did they tell you what percentage of the class reported back and what percentage of the class is employed?

So, today I finally got a hold of a nice lady in Admissions about the phone interview. She looked through my file and said that really, there was no need for the interview and that I would hear back from the committee by the end of the week regarding their decision.

A good thing? I am a little rattled going into my afternoon graduate course on Quine. Hopefully, I can take good enough notes, while not analyzing this event.

If all they wanted was for you to show interest, and you did, then I think this is a good sign.

I'll be attending in 2010! I'm very excited.

I wish they would send out information about their roommate referral service. If anyone knows anything further about it, like for instance, how I can access it, that would be clutch.

Just put in my deposit I will see you all in the fall. Does anyone know where I can find Case's application for financial aid?

Somebody asked about the phone interview- I'd say it's pretty important. I slept through mine by accident, called back 15 minutes later (still groggy), and failed to provide them with any reason to be at that school or that area of the country. A few days ago, I received an email saying they had run out of spots before they had time to review me (sub. in Jan w auto admit #s). It turned out okay, but it was a funny way to get rejected.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
